THE sweetest thing

Jay was quietly hunched over our craft table working. He was working hard on something and didn't even give me permission to peek.

"What are you working on?" I break his concentration.

"YOU can't see until I am all ready." He explodes into giggles.

"Let me peek, Jay!" I tease him knowing very well that this child lives for rules.

"No! Mama. You have to be a patient. Just wait!" More giggles.

He approaches me with this....

and my heart melts. This is the VERY FIRST letter from one of my children. He even had a piece of tape ready for me so that I could display it. I might go as far as to laminate it tomorrow to preserve his little smudges. I don't want the smudges to disappear. This is THE sweetest letter I have gotten. Ever.

i love those homemade letters of love from the kids. actually...believe it or not...my 2 older birth children...they still leave me letters of undying affection...i save them, along with their lost teeth, in a drawer!! i can't wait for my 4 year old to start making them on his own, instead of being forced by his teacher at preschool!
happy valentines day, honey!!

I love those notes! So sweet!

My 6 yo writes those quite a bit, usually when it is bedtime or we need to leave to go. I start harping on her to hurry up. She keeps saying "wait!" I get irritated. Then she hands me one of those notes and I feel like the worst mom ever.

Yes laminate it!

I love how you love it!!!

I say go to the local frame shop and have it mounted and framed in a black frame. The prettiest art you will ever have in your home. You can leave it up all the time or just hang it up at Valentines ! My favorite pieces of art are things my kids have done. I wish I had framed more.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!
