God must like me cold & lonely

He must! Why did he dump 24 inches of snow within 24 hours? On the ONE NIGHT MY BEST FRIEND was flying in to see me?

All the flipping Ohio airports were closed. Only emergency vehicles were allowed on the streets at night.

The only way she could have gotten to see me was by cross country skiing 500 miles.

It is completely ironic that my husband and I were high fiving each other last weekend. "Dude, we saved 300 hundred dollars this winter by not using a plow service and it is already March!"

Hmmmmm....

It is a good thing that both my best friend and the mister were born in August. I can get a great deal on skis and snowblowers for their birthdays!

Sorry your friend didn't make it in. Luckily your bf and Mr. OhMommy have bdays in a GREAT month to buy snowblowers and skis.

Kelly said...

OH NO!!! What rotten timing!! I hope she was able to get a raincheck or something so she can fly in soon!

April said...

Well, that blows!!

Hope you guys can re-schedule pronto.

I'm sorry your friend didn't get to make it. Hopefully she'll get to reschedule that flight.

Snow sucks. I'm just sick and tired of the whiteness. And don't think for one minute you're going to blow that my way.

Unknown said...

Oh I'm so sorry! That just stinks!!

The snow does look pretty....

Irene said...

Yeah, we got it after you. Although luckily the brunt of the storm was about 30 miles north, we only had about 5 inches, up north a few miles they got over 2 feet.

Let's hope this was the last big shibang of the season.

We had 42 degree temps here. i love it and can't wait for it to look like spring too.

Wendi said...

Oh no!!!

Not on your big weekend!

I had hoped to see a flake or two this year... but,
Not. Even. One!

Looks like you got all of it!

The good news: You have some great photo opportunities with the kids!

I'm so sorry your plans were snowed out! That just totally sucks! Another reason to not like winter!

The pics are totally adorable though!

Oh, I am so sorry!!! Snow is serioulsy the raspberry seed in my wisdom tooth this year. I wish sunny skies and free snow plowing service (because you are so classy) to blow your way...

P.S. I LOVE the window shot!! Fabulous!

Oh, and I'm with Cecily -- great hand on the window shot.

Ahhh.. I feel your pain. I so feel your pain. I live right on the OH/PA state line. We got snow too.

Thank GOD though that we didn't get that much THIS time!

I'm so sorry your friend and you didn't get to get together. I feel sad for you. Plus, I was completely looking forward to your posts about the get-together!

**hugs**

I am dreaming of the sun too.............

I'm so sad that the snow ruined your plans. I hope you can reschedule soon.

Oooh, that was the storm that many were freaking out about up here (Detroit area), but it missed us. Funny how people seem to panic over a storm, when we should be so used to them by now. Oh well. Sorry it spoiled your plans! (Nice pix, by the way!) -Ruth

Anonymous said...

Aww, that's too bad. Is she able to come at all?

imbeingheldhostage said...

I am so sorry-- I just saw on the news (they're even talking about your snow in the U.K.!) that you got slammed. I'm sorry that kept your friend from coming. The pictures are beautiful.

Lisa said...

That STINKS!!! I hope you & your best friend can reschedule very, very soon! BRING ON SPRING!

Mary said...

I love that pudgey litle baby hand :)

Burgh Baby said...

I'm sadcakes that your bff wasn't able to make it in, but pretty freakin' happy that we didn't anywhere near that much snow. I will now stop my whining about the two inches we did get.

Stephanie said...

I am sooooo jealous of snow! I know you must get it tired of it if it's a bad winter, but down here in the south, we only got a light dusting that was gone by noon. Snow is the most beautiful function of nature to me....it's so peaceful and quiet. I would give anything to just live up there for a winter, if nothing else to get sick of it so I wouldn't want it so bad here! ;oD

Katie said...

Sorry to hear about your plans, hopefully y'all will be able to get together soon!

John-Michael said...

I am so genuinely sorry that your much-anticipated plans were kaboshed.

I have NEVER seem such snow photos! This is something that I will (in all likelihood) never experience first-hand. I just can't quite get my comprehension wrapped around such a phenomenon. So awe-inspiring.

Unknown said...

I feel your pain. We finally measured it last night, and we had a total of 20 inches, and the snow drift on my front patio was 40 inches. Crazy! Great pictures - it's so pretty to look at.

Maria said...

We got the dump, too! The kids had a blast in it. I actually enjoyed it too! BTW, we have plow service and ours cost 190. 300?

suchsimplepleasures said...

oh my god!!! look at all that snow...that michigan didn't get!!! sucks for you!! i'm so sorry, though, that you're friend wasn't able to come and hang out with you...you must have been soooo disappointed! i hope she gets to come in again, soon...like, after winter!!
but...yay!! michigan didn't get this one!!
this was the first year that we didn't pay for a plowing service, too!! because, every other year...we didn't need the service. figures! that's why, next year...we're handing our guy triple the amount he asks...just to insure that fact that we get NO snow!!
xoxo

I'm so sorry you didn't get your 'girlfriend fix'. I know how important those are. Looks like the little ones enjoyed the snow.

How much longer will you have snow?

Crystal D said...

Oh my goodness OHmommy, now that is a snow storm. While I am desperate for it to be Spring (I mean we sprang forward on the clock and that got me excited) I cannot argue that it would only be fair after all that snow that you should get some warm 70 weather soon. Until then bundle up and make some snow angels with your little OHkiddies.
I love these pictures. Post some more if you go out and play today.

Uggg! You totally got dumped on!

I've been there before...big plans that I have been planning for months and then old man winter ruins it. Very depressing.

Can you rescheudule with your friend?????

Think Spring!!!

AutoSysGene said...

Slap my a$$ and call me Susie. I promise not to complain about all the snow we've gotten so far this year. You guys have us beat hands down.

Be sure not to hurt yourself shoveling.

Unknown said...

That's really tough about your friend. Just seems that things happen like that, sometimes. You can tell all of Ohio that the storm was YOUR FAULT. Actually, I don't know how you guys got hit so bad and it missed us in Illinois.

amanda said...

oh no friend :( so sorry to hear about the lack of weekend bff time! the good news is that u got some great pics!!

Stephanie said...

I cannot even imagine what it is like to live with that much snow. That's insane! The pictures say it all! Lord...

Tara R. said...

AWWW... that sucks! The snow is to the kids' knees! WOW! I guess I don't have it so bad living in a tourist town, sand is much better than snow.

Amy said...

WOW!! All that snow is just insane! Sorry your friend didn't get to come in, that really stinks!

Karen MEG said...

Oh shoot, about the girls' night out being gone! Well, there will be another, hopefully sooner rather than later. Better safe really. This snow blows.

I was just saying that we really got our money's worth with our plow service this year, just in the last week alone. Just when I was thinking it was a stinking waste of money!

LOVE that last pic with the doggie in the snow. We always had to dig little paths for our dachsunds. It was too cute!

Bummer...I grew up in Ohio's snow belt--I hate snow if it's not Christmas. My sister is still there and has been stuck in her house for days.
Sending Texas sunshine your way :)

That was a LOT of snow. We never get that amount of snow here in Texas. If we did, the whole gosh darn state would shut down. Seriously. Mass panic. Sheesh.
