Late Night Visions - Early Morning Regrets

When I have a vision I usually act upon it immediately. Especially when it comes to a photography vision. It is very exciting and invigorating for me.

My vision came to me as I was trying to fall asleep for the night. I anxiously woke up in the morning, sped fed the children, and started executing stern orders for my mini photo shoot.

"Don't move. You, middle child, stand here. Jay over there. I'll hold onto the baby." I grabbed my camera to set up the shot. Before I could even insert my memory card, all three kids had scattered.

"Hey. Middle child, over here! Jay hold onto the baby and don't move." Ugh... I can't program my camera fast enough. My kids are always in fast forward mode.

The late night vision I had was of a super sassy photo of our legs. Super sassy vision.

I forgot to take in account my children's constant fast forward mode. I forgot to take in account that Fifi prefers bare feet. I forgot to take in account that Lola can not physically stay in one place. I forgot to take in account that Jay's new favorite phrase is "This is BORING!"

"This is BORRRRRIIIIING!!!!" Jay yells.

"Fifi stay." I bark.

"Lola don't you dare move a muscle." I threaten.

I forgot that taking pictures of three children is next to impossible. Late night visions turned into early morning regrets.

Yeah, I thought a picture of all of our feet together would be cute. Until my sister asked Dave why he painted his toenails.

They were my feet.

That is Lovely! So worth all that effort, what a great bunch of photos! :)

Love the pumps, and what cute little chubby baby legs. ;) The shoes really add some personality to the subjects.

I don't know why this tickles me so much, but it does. Maybe it's the visualisation of the moment, Maybe it's the one foot bent out that screams "this is BOOOORING!!!"
Really funny stuff.

And thanks for taking me from laughter to full blown crying...I scrolled down and read your letter to your daughter.
I feel the same way about my girl.
We are soooo blessed, aren't we?

What cute, cute pictures!!! We have a tradition that started when Hubby & I got married with taking a picture of our feet on the beach every time we go, and usually write in the sand what the year is. It started in Hawaii on our honeymoon, and now our latest picture we took last night in Florida has four feet - three with hot pink nails :)
I loved catching up on past posts since we've been gone....sweet Lola's birthday, etc....
PS - Jealous of your nice, thin ankles. Mine are thick & not so cute!!!

No need to regret that one. It's darling. I'm going to forget that I saw it here now, and pretend it was all my idea as I try. Mwaahaahaa. :)

You may be disappointed and slightly crazy after trying to get the "perfect" photo, but I think you succeeded! I LOVE the tootsies!

I hear ya on the MUST create idea syndrome... many a vision for a project or solution to a current craft project has come to me in the middle of the night. Never can get back to sleep afterwards, it's like ones mind is in OVERDRIVE.

Great pic though! Love to see it as almost a film crop... that would be cute.

AWESOME VISION! I really, really like those pictures.

If someone has a foot fetish... they are going to be in LOVE!

Those chunky legs are the cutest thing! The infant, I mean. Not the classy stiletto'd legs.

The first picture is my favorite! I think it should be the author photo of your book one day....you know how Sophie Kinsella uses the pic of her with all the shopping bags? This one could be yours!

Seriously amazing. I don't know how you got all 3 to stand remotely still. That is talent!

love the legs! All of em! Great vision!

I often have ideas as I'm falling asleep at night...sometimes I remember them the next morning and sometimes they're lost forever...I know I could've solved world peace or come up with a new form of gasoline in those last moments before sleeping...sigh.

Aww, how cute! I totally understand the photo vision excitement, and the frustration! Mine is 5 and loves when I do our photo shoots, that is, for about 5 minutes... It might have something to do with the fact that I am *so* not a portrait photographer though!
But you miss, beautiful, cute, adorable and trust me - well worth the aggravation :)
