the CLASSY awards

It is THAT time of month again. Time for the "Classy Awards." But this month, I am stepping it up a notch.

There will be awards.

There will be a give-away.

There will be some fabulous entertainment.

Welcome, my friends, to the April issue of the "Classy Awards." Make sure you comment for your chance to win a very classy prize.

THE AWARDS
Thank you Kristen for the "I love you this much award." I love you more. I do. I also am madly in love with Mishelle and Mr. Lady. These are two incredible writers/mothers. As one brilliant blogger amongst us often says, "Nuff said."

Thank you Melissa for the "Tiara-wearing Blogger" award. I am passing this cute award to Tootsie Farklepants and Stephanie. It was love at first "site" for me with these two fine ladies. Both of these women deserve their own tiaras.

Thanks Mombabe for the "I puffy heart your blog" award. I puffy heart your blog way more and this award too. I also puffy heart Jamie's blog and Rachel's blog. They are always very positive and make you say things out loud like, "I puffy heart you."

Thanks Karen for the "Friend" award. That is one of the most humbling awards because true friendships are so dear to me. I would like to pass this onto Kelly, and Stella. Whom I consider to be real friends in real life, although we have never met. Yet.

Last but not least, is my very own CLASSY BLOG award. Past recipients of this award have been Ms. January Lunanik, Ms. February Huckdoll, and Ms. March Don Mills Diva. This month, (insert drum roll here) Ms. April is my very dear friend Amy from Memories and Musings. Amy comments on every single one of my posts. Furthermore, her entire blog has been designed by her and her husband. THAT is so classy. She and I share the same blogging philosophy: write to remember memories. Amy... you have some class.

THE GIVE AWAY
A couple of days ago, I won a monogrammed beach towel from the very classy and sassy "Workin that Preppy" blog. Check her out to see her beautiful items. I would like to PAY IT FORWARD to all of my valued readers. Leave me a comment and you might win a very cute monogrammed beach towel just in time for the summer. I will randomly pull a winner. Thank you readers. I puffy heart you all. Lurkers delurk... that means you Gina, Theresa, Kelly, Maggie, Jessica and whomever else might read this blog but rarely ever comment. How classy would this beach towel look? Yup. SO classy. So leave me a comment. Since I gave birth to this blog I have not asked you to delurk. Today is the day, for YOU might win a classy beach towel just for leaving me a comment.
THE ENTERTAINMENT
Now. What would an awards ceremony be without proper entertainment? Well, it wouldn't be so classy. Ladies and Gentleman, I present to you today's entertainment...

The dancing is fabulous -- particularly the sausage roll move. Love it. I wish I could figure out how to upload video, as I have an excellent clip of my son playing some "blues harmonica" and singing...

OK, I'm de-lurking. But I haven't commented before because I always see the posts end up with 60-90 comments and I think, "What's the point? Does she even read all these? Does anyone read all these?" So, here you go, cute girl.

Tell Mr OhMommy that he needs to get on his knees and thank God tonight that I live no where near you.

That video is HILarious! We have similar entertainment at our house nightly. Our 2 girls dress up in princess dresses and insist we sit down to watch the "show" which pretty much looks exactly like your "show". I tell my oldest we will sit and watch for only one song. NO! She yells...there are EIGHTEEN songs! ya, right.

SMOOCHES!

Unknown said...

That is soooo funny - but for just a second there I thought he might have pulled a hammy after that 'cartwheel'. He laid on the floor and grabbed his butt, and for just a second I expected him to writhe in agony - but no! He hops up and forges onward, trooper that he is. And the little princess, well, she's just gorgeous. Great kids.

puffy heart, that is SO cute. My most treasured possession as a 7 year old was a big photo album with my 3 closest friend's school pictures in it surrounded by puffy heart stickers (& puffy unicorns, and rainbows...). ♥

(Sorry, I just HAD to correct my typo).

I just very recently found your blog, it's great!

I wish Jay could be my date for every wedding I attend from this day forward. My husband won't dance with me--for a reason. He certainly cannot bust a move the way Jay and Lola can. So I sit and stare longingly at the dance floor...

FABULOUS beach towel. What do I have to do to win that baby??

John-Michael said...

My Darling Friend, please forgive this intrusion … but knowing your compassionate Heart, I am compelled to send this to you. Please read it, and follow your Heart’s leading. I have unwavering trust in that. I Love You, Your Servant, John-Michael

Oh my darlings, you sure know how to make a girl cry. I have just come home briefly to check in, there are too many messages to answer but I appreciate each and everyone one of then so very much.

Unfortunately, I have been given a bit of a bum steer in terms of Jack being able to stay in Hospice with me. That is actually not the case, apart from a night here and there, so the woman that told me it was possible has really got a lot to answer for as I pinned all my hopes on this. Anyway, Jacks Dad came down and can stay at my place this week at least but that's it. After that who knows and yet they are saying I need to be in Hospice for a lot longer yet.

The pain last night, defied description I have never felt such pain in my life including child birth, I was a sobbing mess, eventually they had to knock me out and I finally got some rest. Anyway they are comparing scans and trying very hard to work out what is best to do. I know I desperately need chemo, the longer I go without it, the bigger the tumour is growing and pressing further on the nerves. So now not only do I have megga pain that is not responding to treatment, I have a child not welcome at Hospice and my life is completely screwed.

I spent the night in tears and most of the day too, I don't have think I have any left but who knows, I will let you know how tonight goes. I am a broken woman.

There is talk about Jack having to move up with David to Warragul and change schools and everything. I said NO WAY I am not giving him up when I am not ready to die and I am not giving him up twice. I will work something out. There is no way he needs to go to another school, he needs the security of his local school here and his friends and having close contact with me.

Anyway my friends, it is a lot to contemplate tonight, I will do my best and I will not be letting my son go away from me no matter what. Please keep praying and sending me your love and care, I need you all so desperately right now. I hate to have to go, but I must leave now to go back to Hospice as they need to medicate me there, it is too dangerous to be on the medication I need to be on at home.

I will be thinking of you and I will post again either tomorrow or the next day, I promise.

Love to you all, my heart is full of you love and hugs to each and every one of you. Xxxx

Ah, we have many a dance party in our house. Nice way to "waste" some time before Daddy comes home.

I will say you have inspired me to add the word "classy" to my daily vocabulary. I was standing at the post office today with my daughter in one arm, a package in the other, and a hand on my 2 year old who just couldn't "hold it" any longer and was standing in a puddle. I thought to my self WWOHMD? What would OH Mommy Do?

Amy said...

I am so honored! Thank you very much for your classy award. I am speechless, for now.

I love the entertainment. Very Classy.

I also love how lady-like your daughter is... twirling around in her pretty dress! :)
They are too cute!!!
Have a lovely day!! hugs, Jenn

1) Thank you, my dear. I have to get crackin' and put up this award and a few others on my awards page. I don't have one like this, so it is greatly treasured. Especially that it comes from YOU.

2) Dancers! They are real, live dancers!!

3) I love that you have a map like that. I've got to find another one b/c since our move I haven't put up one.

OK - here it is, my virgin comment. I guess this means I will do anything for a prize. But you called me out -- by name -- and dared me to comment on your blog and not just to your personal email. So what is a girl to do...
