He is most definitely MY son

"Mothers are fonder, than fathers, of their children because they are more certain they are their own." ~Aristotle

Over the weekend, we noticed that a rainbow had formed in our neighborhood. Lola raced to find her boots convinced she was going to find a "magical treasure." She was speaking in tongues with anticipation of finding "magical treasures" of jewels and diamonds.

I threw on some boots and ran for my Nikon with anticipation of documenting the first rainbow of the season. Lola was already outside and Jay no where in sight. I joined Lola knowing that Jay would soon follow.

I was engrossed in taking pictures of Lola and Fifi that I barely noticed MY son. My son joined us outside ready to document his story. He had grabbed his camera and was completely engrossed. He is most definitely MY son.

Now I have to figure out where Lola came from. She most definitely was switched at birth. It is possible, isn't it?

Absolutely adorable, and the photos are awesome! Thanks for posting this! (BTW, I'm thinking Lola came from the same place your son did. Yep, that's what I'm thinking...) :-)

Lovely. And, from what I hear, Lola must be yours, as she is a mini Kash.

Dang...I was almost first!
What sweet pictures....the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, huh? Can we arrange a marriage between Jay & my sweet Goosey??!?

Loved the pictures of your kids -beautiful, they are! Today, with my youngest being 32 and the oldest being 41, I can say without a doubt that each one of my three has many traits just like their old Momma here. But when my youngest was growing up, there were times we used to tease her that perhaps they switched her at the hospital.

Oh she did not just pull mommy's daffodils out of the ground?!

Super photos!

way too cute!! more proof that children not only SEE everything but often they copy what they see.

How cute are you with your little ones!

I love that he wants so much to be like his Mama. That says a lot about what a wonderful job you are doing with him.

And Lola, I think is too cute as well. She must belong to the OhMommy family. How else would she be so adorable?

How sweet! The rainbow picture is absolutely adorable!!!!!

My 2 yo is always pretending to take pictures. And when she is outside playing she keeps asking "where is your camera?" I guess my kids are very aware of my new obsession...

you truly couldn't find anything cuter at the end of a rainbow!!

It's absolutely possible. Otherwise, I have to say that I am my parent's child, and I'm not. ;-)

What an awesome legacy you are bringing up! And gorgeous rainbow!

Why did this make me all teary eyed? I know.. because kids lead by example and look at Jay becoming a little man with grown up interests..

I love the first picture.. that is just priceless.

I love this post. You should put up some of his pictures too. That would be fun to see.

How sweet! My oldest (2 year old) grabbed her fake tinkerbell camera yesterday when she saw my youngest standing on her bed. "Hold on, Chicken, I need to take your picture!" And she held it up and pretended. She most definitely mine AND hubby's!

I dunno ... he's looking an awful lot like MY son too right now. :)

So lovely. Perfect shots. Can we see some of his pictures too?

It would be interesting to see his pictures - to see if his 'eye' is as good as Ohmommy's.

So cute!!! Yes, Jay certainly seems to take after you...not just with photography, but a little in the sensitivity department as well.

And Lola...God help you when she is a teenager! :)

So cute... My Harry is a shutterbug just like Mom. I even let him take some with my Nikon once in blue moon although it makes me a nervous wreck. He gets good shots though. Jay and Lola are both cute pies! As is Fifi:) You need to pst Jay's work.

Nice pictures! I was just catching up with your posts below and was cracking up over the "pretty blood" post. Reminded me of when I tell Corinne (2 yr) that the bugs are SO CUTE! Such tiny little wings, etc. Flipped her perspective immediately, and now she loves them.

What a sweetie! Time to start sharing his pics!!

Adorable. My daughter is the same way. She thinks taking pictures is my job (it is not) and she likes to work like mommy.

Her pictures are often out of focus and at crazy angles, but to me they capture her view of the world.

Those are darlin' pictures! I love the 'speaking in tongues' part. You have such a great writing style. The pictures are fabulous, too. Both of my kids are becoming camera obsessed and I think it's adorable :-) But definitely following after mommy :-)

Wow, now THAT'S a rainbow! Great pics and cute kids!

Love the quote up top.

I haven't seen a rainbow in a while!

I think I've passed the photo bug onto my sons as well...just recently they keep running off with my camera and I find all kinds of ...amazing...or, um, interesting...god, help us, awful photos on my camera!

MarĂa said...

It's very possible. I think that sometimes about my own...

Very cool! We saw a huge rainbow today, incidentally. It was inspiring. All three of my girls, my wife and I just took it in. It was really kinda magical. Your picture reminded me of that moment. I love the boots and that precious little girl picking the flowers. Very cute kids.

Eve Grey said...

yikes, that quote at the top is sort-of severe!
I love the photo of your son taking a photo of the rainbow.

i think that jay is you NOW and lola cuold be you the teenager?? scary thought, but i think with the havoc you reaked, it might be true:-) great pics!!

Anonymous said...

How incredibly COOL is that?! Love it!!

adequatemom said...

SO COOL when you see your kids picking up your hobbies, isn't it? But sorry, sweetie, Lola is definitely yours ;-) I can see her dramatic and "classy" side coming out in your posts!

Valarie said...

So cute! And your son was taking pictures that had the potential to actually turn out. When my daughter gets ahold of the camera, I end up with 20 picture of my butt and 1 of her stuffed dog, Puffy.

Jennifer said...

Great pics. Beautiful rainbow and even MORE beautiful children!! :) My son is wild with the camera too! Much like his mamma, I'm pleased to say!! :) He is 4 so the pics come out a little bit funky sometimes but not too shabby most times. And some of them are just amazing.
I see that your son doesn't have a "child-like" camera. We had the Fisher Price camera for my son, paid over a hundered for it and a case last year at Christmas and in MHO it sucks!! :(
I just gave him my old digital elf and he LOVES it... and he does good with it. The pics are actually descent from it too, the FP one the pics were very blurry and grainy... so NOT worth the money!!

Anyway... now that I have rambled on and on... great post!!

Hugs, Jenn

Now isn't that the cutest, with his camera, zooming in for a close-up and everything ;).

Those boots are the sweetest too, I don't know what it is about springtime and kids in rubber boots!

Great shots as usual!!
