Once upon a time, on a sunny August afternoon, a girl spent hours filling up a box with warm water. She worked up quite a sweat filling each pail with water, dragging the pails, and dumping them into the box. She called this box her "hot tub." The girl was very happy in her "hot tub."
The very happy girl had a very curious baby sister. The baby sister was always two steps behind her. The baby sister, a woman of little words, happily made her way into the "hot tub" unannounced.
At first, the girl was quite happy sharing her "hot tub" with her baby sister. The two girls giggled and squealed and enjoyed each others company. Life was good for them both, in the "hot tub."
Moments later. The baby sister, still high on Ben and Jerry's mango sorbet, started to cause a bit of unannounced chaos.
Swish. Splash. Splosh.
The mother of the two beautiful girls observed the chaos behind her camera lens and did not intervene. Sometimes it is more important to let a story develop on it's own and wait for the moral or lesson learned. The mother silently giggled.
The girl had enough of her baby sister and screamed for her to stop. The baby sister, a woman of little words, did not give in. The girl held up her hands in protest, hoping that body language would be understood by the baby.
Words failed. Body language failed. The defeated girl left the baby sister, a woman of little words, alone in the "hot tub."
It was on this sunny August afternoon, that the girl learned that her sister was a force to be reckoned with. She did not like it.
Moments later, after another round of Ben and Jerry's mango sorbet the girl's world was okay again. However, she will always remember the day she learned that her baby sister was no longer a baby, but a real sister.
And. In this world. They lived happily ever after. The sisters never had another argument, always shared clothes, exchanged only loving words, and vowed to be the best of friends.
The end.

This post was just too cute and funny! Wouldn't it be fantastic though if the sisters did just that too -never fought again? But then too, how boring would that be -for them, for you, for us reading your blog too!???
Very cute. Some may tell you to keep dreaming, but not I! I shall say, Hold on to your optimism!
I love it. I'm a big sister too.
That's too cute.
Yeah...good luck with that ending;)
I'm with nap warden on this one.
Uhm, it was all fantastic until I read the last paragraph and realized that you are dreaming! LOL
They're so cute, m'dear!
I'm the oldest out of 4 siblings. I was not so nice when I was a youngin'
The ending . . . the pics. Classic.
Read it again, OHmommy . . . please . . .
I was cursed, I mean blessed, with two girls 18 mo apart - JUST LIKE ME AND MY SISTER. Oh Jeebus help me...
Was separate hot tubs in their pact at the end of the story?
Ha, keep dreaming friend. If they are anything like me and my sister, the arguments will turn into fights and the mom went nuts from the two crappy daughters always fighting.
And then the two crappy daughters became friends as they grew older and wiser and ganged up on the nutty mother.
And the story continues on.....ask the nutty mother. And the daddy was no help to the mommy! He, He! I love picking on my mom. It makes my days!
Note: These two sisters were not near as cute as yours!
I love this post. The pictures are great, and the story... well, I hope it really does have that kind of happy ending!
You are so delusional if you think that's how the story ends. Just saying... I might know a thing or two, or four about sisters ;-)
I taught my older sister that lesson once too. ;)
You should sign the mr linky at Photo Story Fridays for this one! Perfect!

So cutely told and with adorable pictures, too. I'd keep some mango sorbet handy just in case the happily ever after part has a few bumps along the way. If no bumps, you still have the sorbet. ;)
Darling sisters and darling story!
Have a good weekend, P - see you soon - Kellan
Awww. Such GOOD pictures of them. Seriously caught the whole drama!
Those are seriously the most adorable pictures ever! As for your ending, hey, we all need to dream of a fairytale ending, right?
Sounds very very familiar! But nothing a little (chocolate) ice cream can't fix!
Great photo story!
Goddammit, your kids are really stinking cute, even when they're crying.
I love your fairy tale, btw.
My only question is where do I get a bucket big enough for ME to sit it??
You gotta love a happy ending!
The pictures are adorable.
tee hee...thanks for the smiles. I certainly needed them. :)
Happy PSF!
What a fabulous picture story! Great job not intervening - I feel like I intervene way too much and need to learn to stand back a little and watch things play out. It's the only way for them to learn, right?
I think that "hot tub" would fit my big toe - after I've been on a diet for three months.

This is a perfect post...the photos are amazing - and what a great milestone/lesson. Too cute!
This post is just what I needed on this Friday morning! I LOVE the "hot tub." And the two sisters? Just could not be any cuter! And it's also nice for a Mama to dream big dreams...HA!
It could happen, if they never fall in love with the same boy LOL. Great pictures!
It is so wonderful that you capture moments like these, and your daughters are adorable. Love the ending if only it could end like that.
The funny thing is that mango sorbet always WILL make everything okay. That's what I've learnt from this story anyway.
That is really sweet. I probably would've pushed my little sister out.
I had a mean streak back then. ;)
She loves me now though. :)
Too cute! Your girls are really looking even more alike.
And, your fairy tale ending? Do you not have sisters? Good luck with that.
Yeah, right. I don't believe the ending for a minute.
As an older sister, I think the ending is much different. The little sister torments the older sister for years and years. Then they both grow up and really are the best of friends. OK, so the older sister does some tormenting of her own. But mostly it is the little sister.
Ah, yes, Ms. Grimm, the fairy tale ending is lovely. Now go get the gingerbread men out of the oven.
They are going to LOVE this post when they are older -- well done!
That was a great post! Love the story and the photos. I can so relate to this one in my house too.
Can you imagine those two as teenagers? Imagine! I can't wait to see it.
W naszej lazience, kiedy big sister, powiedziala do malutkiej "baby:
"This is my Toy"
Wyglada ze juz nie bedzie.
Wogole to opowiadanie, mozesz opublikowac i zrobic fajna ksiazeczek dla dzieci
Fifi reminds me of my Caroline. They are very strong-willed girls. :-)
Heres to hopefully thinking, right?
Oh, if only . . . right? That was too cute!
They are too cute!!!! I love Photo Story Fridays!
That was an awesome story told with great photos. At least the older sister didn't try to drown the baby one. Then you'd have 2 forces and that would not be fun! ;)
Yep that is exactly how it went with you and Kash right?
Hmmm strange, I hear yelling and screaming downstairs. It couldn't be, no, not my two sweet little girls.
Fifi is alot like Amelia, she also follows her big sister into about every situation. I try to explain to Madeline how irresistible she is, but it is just not something she is willing to accept.
How cute is that! Two sisters are as sisters do...it is a lesson that will serve her well in the future.
~K
That was too, too sweet. Love it - and may the ending always be that happy!
So cute!
And so begins the love/hate relationship between two sisters. Good fun!
That was too precious!
I should do one about my girls but mine would be a cautionary tale, to be shown to teenagers contemplating pregnancy.
Totally cute!
Seriously, this is one of my favorite posts so far!
Your girls are just plain adorable!
Happy Weekend!
That's definitely a fictional story there at the end!
Way to go Fifi! Lola is always described as so head strong, etc...I am impressed Fifi can hold her own.
Uhmmm...good luck with that happy ending. :)
Ahhh. And, it begins, eh? The sibling rivalry. Have an extra glass of vino for that milestone.
I love it,that's sooo cute !!!
I am going to have to fill my girls in on the ending because it is usually world war III in my house. They missed that memo. I'm opening up this post at bedtime tonight for their bedtime story!
Yikes, and let the fun begin!! I'm the little sister ;)
This was a great one. How funny and cute are your kids?
Love it!
Great PSF!
Of course, that is exactly how it will end, but it will take 20 years.
OHMommy...not only do you write in the irreverent, tongue in cheek manner that I SO adore...you take some kick a** pictures too!!! Is there anything you can't do???
I'll be kicking the tale of the peddler, some monkeys and their monkey business to the curb tonight to make room for "A tale of two sisters"...it was the best of times...it was the worst of times...
LOVE!
Kate :-)
That is such a cute and adorable story. Who would have thought a Rubbermaid tub could be so exciting?? Love the pictures to go along with the narrative.
Too cute.
as adults they will appreciate each other. my sister and i beat each other to a pulp as kids, but we are best friends now!
I love a story with a happy ending!
I love the pics! I loev how determined Fifi is getting and poor little Lola's face at the end.
That was precious! i loved her hot tub idea!!!
Great pics!
I look forward to more installments :)
Great story and GREAT pictures! Your daughters are beautiful.
And good luck with that ending!!
Good luck with the ending ;)
Okay, love the ending and I'll be crossing my fingers that it turns out that way! :)
Take it from the big sister. There has never been a happy ending like that. Ever.
Sounds like a fairytale...
Two blond girls fighting in the hot tub... Now that caption would get some attention. Even though the hot tub is slightly improvised and the girls just turned into girls ;-)
Great story of sisters. and the photos are great. You should get one of those minibooks printed with this story for the girls when they grow up. I'm sure they would love that :-)
have a great weekend
Too cute or words almost... but so glad you put that adorable little story to it!
My little sister is also a force to be reckoned with... and my best friend.
GREAT post!
This reminds me of my girls. Hannah, my youngest, loves to antagonize her older sister by grabbing her toys, pulling her hair, splashing her in the tub. We continue to remind Sarah, she has to stand up for herself, defend herself. We cannot come to her rescue every time Hannah does something. Yes, this summer is so different from last summer when Hannah just sat there looking sweet and innocent and now she is a "force to be reckoned with."
I love the way you told this beautiful story.
I would give my right arm if my girls would stop all the fighting! Granted, they're close in age than your two (I think?).
It's the worst part of having more than one child, by far!
Wonderful story! I love your pictures leading up to the big event of understanding that the baby is no longer a baby anymore. I think my teenage step kids can relate to that one when they look at their little brother.
my girls play more and more together everyday, I love it!
I just love the fact that they played in a BOX for what seems like a really long time. And yet we still spend $50 on the "good" toys. :O)
That was adorable. Probably more so for me because I'm a younger sister, hee hee.
oooh! I like the ending...
The love between sisters......too cute!!
Awesome photos....your girls are so adorable!
I have one sister, she is younger by 22 months, and I can tell you this is only the beginning of the sisterly love!!! We fought hard, but we always made up....and now we are closer than close!!
Always enjoy stopping by for a little dose of chaos!!!
Lisa
Your girls will treasure this mini-documentary forever.
Okay, stop being so dang cute and funny and showing all of that adorable DNA you've made, please. You're too good.
Sounds like my kids in the bath tub. They love pouring water on eachothers heads, and then they get really mad at eachother. I don't understand why they keep doing it...
Great story! I love how you captured it all. I hope they really do live happily ever after! I am the little sister and big sister so I have all the angles. Good luck with that ending!!!
I love that even though this was a very real story about some very real sibling fights, it ended with a happy ice cream moment. :)
Sisters are awesome. The interaction is wonderful to watch.
PRICELESS!
That was something else. I'm glad you got to capture it all. I love the hot tub that cracked me up. I also liked your woman of little words. LOL great post.
Great story.
Can I send my girls to live in that world too? The one with no arguments and only loving worlds?
Your story is so cute! The pics are fantastic and the sisters are to die for! Great PSF Ohmommy!
Adorable pictures and story. I bet you get that happy ending.
I really am good friends with my sister and we rarely fought when I was a teen. But, she's five years younger and I think that made a difference.
What a cute tale! Sisters are truly are wonderful gift. They just may not realize it til they're older! Ha ha ha....
I gave you an award--here is the link:
http://pursuinghappilyeverafter.blogspot.com/2008/08/it-must-be-share-love-week.html
If it were only that easy. I know my sister's tale ended like that. Ha.
love the ending!!! where do they go to get this sibling training, maybe someday bradley might need it! XO, Clare
ahhhh - what a great story and wonderful pics!!
"and they never fought again" - hahahahahahahahaha!!
OHMOMMY!
I am a lurker on your blog - I LOVE it and have for sometime now!!
This was just so fun! I loved the photos!
Would LOVE to hear your input on my newest blog contest...the words you thought you would never hear yourself say.
There is a prize for the funniest AND the blog who referred her there.
Come see....it's a riot! You won't believe the things we moms say!!!
Geez. Comment 101...sorry I am so behind!
LOve Love that you are PSFing this week with us!
This was PERFECTION. Those two girls are just all kinds of adorable.
Uh-huh. Happily ever after.
So cute! I am on vacation with my older sister and I love her and we borrow clothes and shop and cook together. Sisters rock!
I am comment number 104. Holy Hells Bells woman. When i grow up to be a big girl blogger, I want to be you.
Those two are so stinkin' cute.
Too precious.
Smooches and love darlin'
Happily ever after, ha!
Loved this little story and pix. You're an inspiration. Thank you!
so cute!!
And let the fun begin.... The sisters I am raising fill me with joy when they can spend 10 minutes together without fighting. Strangely I now consider fighting the norm and peace like a gift. :>)
I love all the pictures. I was stopping by to let you know I left you an invite to my dinner party, I'd be honored if you could stop by. Thanks.
So sweet, OHmommy. :)
Wow, I get to be comment #110, geesh girl!
I wish that I had a girl (or two) I'd love to see that relationship from a mother's perspective; not my own, in which I have 2 sister that I thought were horrible growing up :)
Oh, what a fun story! Except there needs to be a wicked witch or a troll or something scary that ends up uniting the sisters. I'm sure that will happen though. Eventually. OH, I know, an epic journey to bring them together...like traveling to POLAND!
Adorable pictures. Lola's face is just priceless in that last shot.
Great idea with the tubs!!
Love this!
Never another argument??!! Oh my. I need to know the secret!
Much, much luck with that last sentence!
We are going through this at our house now too. Baby brother is all "up in the grill" of Big brothers and some day's it is not pretty.
This is a loverly fairytale.. :)
the pictures are adorable!! :)
JIC
What a cute and hilarious post! Reminds me of my 2 girls! Thanks for sharing, Wendy
