There, I said it. Cleveland rocks.

Dear City of Cleveland,

Bravo. Job well done on your annual Winterfest.

Delicate decorations, breathtaking fireworks, perfect parade, and festive music set the tone for a wonderful evening. "Can we make this our tradition?" My son asked while watching the miniature horses and Amish buggies trot past Public Square.

I can not remember the last time I was filled with so much pride about our city. It was clean. People were friendly. It was pleasant. Gosh, do I dare utter those famous words?

Cleveland rocks.

I observed families peeking through the windows of the Renaissance Hotel dining room observing the fireworks. I watched my children huddle together in fright as they saw Santa, perhaps they know judgment day is coming. I smiled at the site of old couples holding hands as they watched the fireworks.

It was all free. And nice. And all so very classy.

So. A virtual high five Cleveland, on putting together a truly wonderful event that will most definitively become one of our family traditions. I'm not sure if Cleveland receives many thank-you notes, thank-you notes are uber classy, so consider this my contribution.

Tonight. Cleveland rocked.

Warmly,
OHmommy

I'm not in Cleveland, but I'm jealous of your wonderful parade!! Glad you guys enjoyed it! Isn't it a little cold outside where you are for a parade???

Our holiday parades are set for next weekend. I'm starting to all the Christmas lights, and decorations. Sounds like Cleveland knows how to do it right.

Go Cleveland!

I love being proud of where I live. Hope the kids got scared enough to get a few weeks of good behavior out of them!

Y'know the first time I went to Cleveland I declared love. I thought it was so pretty. A winter magical event sounds so pretty. I will write a similar post next week after our Winter Day into The City.

I was there too. I wish I knew you were there. I had a couple of passes for the after party (it was kid friendly) at Cadillac Ranch. My question was "What do all of these horse have to do with celebrating Christmas?" It was good people watching and the fireworks were much more than I anticipated.

We have never been. I hate the cold so I don't know if I could stand there and watch the fireworks. But, good to hear that you are proud of Cleveland. As much as I hate the cold, I do really love this area.

Just wanted to say that I randomly found your blog and LOVE it. I am still a newly wed and a few years away from starting my own family. But being sick in bed this weekend, your stories kept me well entertained!
