I would take it down; but, the kitten likes to climb it.

Just three days before Christmas and the "kids" tree in our family room is just about bare.

Most of the handmade ornaments from preschool, paper chains made on snow days, and pictures of the kids on Christmas past have been lovingly thrown about the house. Sticky candy cane wrappers are tossed over the faux needles like tinsel. I have stepped on sloppily painted rocking horses in my kitchen all week. And yesterday, I found a Star Wars Droid ornament in a uncompromising position between the three kings in our nativity set. Oh vey!

I guess the kids are spreading the holiday cheer around one ornament at a time.

The "adult" tree, in our piano room, remains unfazed by our daily chaos and stands gracefully in the corner illuminating our house at night. A breathtaking display of carefully crafted ornaments by Polish artisans it is a big "n0-no.. don't touch or mama will yell" and so far the three kids, weiner dog, and feline have all happily obliged.

Our two trees, one bare and one graceful, will keep each other company as we head west on the interstate to spend Christmas in Chicago.

Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas. And. Happy Hanukkah to you sweet ladies if you made it down this far into a Christmas post about a bare tree.

YOur "kid" tree reminds me of our tree before we had kids, but when we had a cat. The CAT loved to play with the glass balls and lights. I was afraid many times he would end up like the cat on Christmas Vacation (worth the watch (without kids under 12) if you haven't seen it).

Merry Christmas! My playroom tree only has decorations half way down, on purpose! Chicken kept slicing his finger open on an ornament, so I kept the rest out of his reach!

I absolutely love that your children are spreading the Christmas cheer throughout the house one ornament at a time.

Your nice tree has some gorgeous ornaments, btw.

And I need to see a picture of Todd in the tree. hehe

We only have one tree, but we are also being cursed with it being bare. I was nervous putting the tree up that my 16 month old would have ornaments all over the place, but he surprised me and it seemed he didn't even notice it was there. Fast forward 3 days and you would think it was the only thing in the entire house!! He has a habit of hiding things, so where the ornaments are I may never know!!

Merry Christmas to you and your family!!

We have two Christmas trees also. I have done a teddy bear tree with my children's stuffed animals since my first child's first Christmas. It is a tradition that continues now 15 years later. It is cute because my youngest children still take the stuffed animals off of the tree, play with them; then put them back on the tree.

The other tree is filled with special ornaments.

Merry, merry Christmas to you and yours. Be safe traveling this holiday season. Stay warm too!
