Striving to get more people to stand up on their counter tops. One person at a time.

This is the Max Studio dress as shown online in salmon (not black). Shapeless, frumpy, and plain. OHmommy would have never purchased it online, at first glance.

This is the Max Studio dress, as seen on OHmommy, purchased at a mall that made her husband's jaw drop. OHmommy, whom is standing on top of her master bathroom island, while her toddler quietly plays with her costume jewelry on the floor, for one second thinks she looks not like a SAHM.

It is fun, flirty, and fabulously silky. And OHmommy kinda of feels like a million bucks wearing it in the middle of a snowy Tuesday afternoon, in rural Ohio, half way between a Saks and an Amish Walmart, on top of her bathroom island. Alone with a toddler. Oh, hush... that sounds completely normal.

OHmommy could have chosen something more fitted, black, and conservative as she normally does; however, there is no way, after birthing three children, that 20 years from now she could successfully pull off wearing a fantastic dress as the one mentioned above.

This message has been endorsed by the members of OHmommy's SAMIC group. (SAMIC: Shopping At Mall Is Classy was established yesterday in hopes of getting more people off their computers and into the mall and later to return back to their computers so they can post ridiculous pictures of themselves standing on top of counter tops narcississtically taking pictures of themselves in new clothes.) **Membership to SAMIC is free. Anyone with a counter top, mirror, and camera is encouraged to join. And clothes. You must have clothes. SAMIC does not endorse birthday suits.**

I love the dress and holy cow, look at those legs. If shoes would make my legs look like that I'd be willing to pay $500 for them.

Absolutely gorgeous (and the dress isn't bad, either!)

I needed that laugh - thank you! Clothes are definitely a must. :)

The shoes make the dress, you know. Flats would change the look entirely. You look stunning!

1) Wow, that is cute.

2) I have stood on the edge of my bathtub (across from the mirror) to take pictures of my outfits. On more than one occasion...

3) OK, what exactly is an Amish Wal-Mart?

YOU ARE SMOKIN' in that dress. Holy cow, you look like a model.

I am so completely jealous of you. I had legs like that when I was sixteen and no matter how much I lose, I will NEVER have legs like that again.

Ashley said...

You were right...it looks WAY cuter on you than the other model.

Damn! I want your legs. I need your legs. Will trade you mine to make things fair.
I reckon you could belt it too - and get two dresses out of it!

Knew I wouldn't be the only one checking out your legs!

Well I gave birth to 3 children (3 C-section which is even worse than natural births because after that you can say good bye to your abs ! lol) and there is no way I could wear your dress !!!Why? Because only a skinny woman can wear this kind of dress without looking pregnant with her fourth child !!! lol By the way, you look amazing in that dress ;-) Your neighbors' jaws are going to drop too (male only, of course !!! lol)

Deal?

Wowzers! Hot momma! I can see how Mr. Classy almost fell in the floor.

And, really an island in the bathroom? I don't even have one in the kitchen.

That's it. I'm moving in...or at least coming over for my picture!

(Does it count if your sister went to the mall and bought you the dress?)

Fabulous! First I was dropping my jaw because of the outfit and how fantastic you look in it. Then I said, "she has an island in her bathroom?!"

That's what I get for living in a 60 year old house.

You couldn't look MORE fabulous if you tried! I also need to get away from the black and stop shopping at White House Black Market for all my dresses (where the color choice is severly limited!). Thanks for the inspiration.

I like your new group. YOu need to trademark it or something. I was thinking that was a counter, do you have a big mirror in your kitchen or is that your bathroom?

I would have fallen off of that island as I took my picture. LOL

You are such a turkey.

I love the dress. It is VERY cute and very young and you pull it off perfectly. And I see no problems with standing on countertops while taking a picture of yourself. I do it all the time.

GypsiAdventure said...

Oh I think the group is fun! Shopping is great...I have such a hard time with the clothes though, it always looks - well - not quite right. Oh well, I guess a trip to the mall is in order (if I wanna join the group) :)

Have a great day!

I think that dress is beautiful; I thought so yesterday, and today's post proves it. I love the color and can see how it would work perfectly with your coloring--and, the shoes! I LOVE those shoes, and they are perfect for the dress.

OHMommy DOES NOT DO UGLY CLOTHES! Now get down off that counter; you are making the old-enough-to-be- YOUR-mother part of me very nervous! :)

Lisa said...

Hullo - you look HAWT! And I love the shoes. I think the shoes (and the pose) make the dress!!!

PS - I love your new club. If my bathroom counter was big enough for me to stand on and I wasn't almost six months prego, I might just try it!

The dress looks fabulous! If I had that dress, I would wear it every chance I got.

I unfortunately have to stand on the top of the closed toilet to take such pictures, since we do not have a bathroom counter far enough away from the mirror to make any sense. But can I be in the club anyway?

Your legs are to kill for. Seriously. I'd do anything not to have ugly knobby knees.

And I'm definitely joining the SAMIC, I need a dress(es) for Blissdom and BlogHer.

tiarastantrums said...

now I'm just saying . . . did you get "I'll be upstairs - keep the shoes on" from DH?

MIT Mommy said...

Okay, yes, the dress is great on you. Now, what I'd really like to know is how the picture came out so nice in a mirror. I've tried that trick. It isn't easy to pull off well. You are so clever.

If you can teach me to do that, I promise I'll put on my best dress and take a picture of myself to post on the internet.

(Of course, it will take more than technology to look THAT good.)

Deal?

Clare said...

first of all you look hot!! and i love this post, so fun!! i will soon be taking pictures of myself on counters tops, just you wait!!

Good for you!

I actually have one fairly similar and always feel so pretty in it! When I first bought it I thought it was going to swallow me and make me look 10 lbs. heavier....but it doesn't.

Very cute!

And, I'm so glad I stumbled upon your blog!!! I'll have to add it to my reader!

You DO look like a million bucks!!!

And I just went to 3 malls in the last 2 days. I think I'm done for about 9 months. And my son now has clothes for next winter. Yes, I do pre-buy all his clothes at the "end-of-season" clearance!

Ringleader said...

OK- Jealous on a few levels here:

1. You have an ISLAND in your bathroom!
2. You look hot in that dress.
3. I can only wear shoes like that for about 2 minutes before I want to chop my feet off from the pain.
4. That is all... thanks for sharing the cute pic!
