Blog: Q&A spring cleaning time

Nearly one year ago, I asked my readers to supply me with questions for my Q and A section. I wrote: "I'm envisioning the "Q&A" section to be full of classy and witty questions from my classy and witty readers. I envision a place where new readers can come to learn more about me and find you."

I asked my readers: "leave me ONE QUESTION (include your url address, so I can minimize my clicking). Keep it CLASSY and WITTY... things you really would like to know about me, about blogging, about parenting, or whatever else. Please remember that my entire family and handful of friends read this blog. Mwah from a PG-13 kinda of gal."

And. My readers delivered. That Q and A section entitled ANSWERS up in my tab section is one of my most popular viewed pages.

What I love about my Q and A section is that nearly all of the well thought-out questions came from people that are still commenting today, an entire year later. I took down my blogroll months ago and this page is my virtual link fest where people come to learn about me and end up finding you.

What I dislike about my Q and A section is that one year later I have "met" so many more of you that I also want to include.

So. It's time for me to update that page. (I have since frozen that page to allow you to repeat some of the questions) Leave me one question and PLEASE include your url within your comment to minimize my time at the computer clicking and searching. If you don't have a blog, no problem, just let me know. Keep it classy and witty. I will try to answer as many as possible and will very honestly probably start with questions coming from my regular commenters (I have a special place in my heart for you guys). I will then move onto witty well thought-out questions from lurkers. Person from the Faroe Islands that visits weekly... I beg you to de-lurk (in bloggish that means "come out").

You have until this Thursday the 5th.

I have no questions b/c I think I know you too well to ask. I just wanted to be the first up here. Can't wait to see what everyone asks.

Since I have been reading you have had 3 different, yet classy & fab., hairstyles. Do you feel that changing your hair style is important to keep your look classy and trendy? Just curious as I love my hair style-can't imagine changing it anytime soon because I just don't deal with that kind of change well.

Which part of your Polish heritage do you consider most important and which part do you feel is most important to impart to your children? If the aspects you choose are different, why so?

How does one manage to still have the body to go with her Classy Closet after three children? Also, how do you run after them in stilettos? :-)

My question is this. What is your biggest challenge besides time that you face with parenthood?

You have 3 beautiful children who seem so well rounded...how do you do it? We have so much jealousy in our house I want to scream. How do you make them feel like you love them all the same? Please teach me this so I can restore peace in our home.

I want to know what your career was before it was raising children full time. Also, do you plan to work outside the home again, when, and doing what?

Question: Which of your three kids is your favorite?

No? Okay...just kidding! Love them all!!!

What is your favorite picture you have taken? Yes...just one picture!

Occasionally you post about your kids differences in personality. Which of the three most closely matches your own personality?

I have been reading you for about 6 months, but have rarely commented. I found your blog through my friend Kim 3Peanuts. Anyways, my question -

You are so proud of your Polish heritage and do such a great job teaching your children about it and incorporating it into your lives. What is your husband's ethnic background? Is that as much a part of your lives?

I struggle - I am Jewish, dh is Christian, and we have an adopted Chinese daughter. How do we do it all with our kids?

Thanks,
Rachel

I'm looking for ideas. :)

So, you take amazing photos, and you briefly gave a synopsis of how to become a good photographer, but I'm just wondering, what are some other little things you've figured out about snapping a great picture. And when did you decide you wanted to be good at photography?

Jessica said...

When you DO show pictures of yourself...which doesn't seem to be quite as frequent as you do of your kids...you're wearing some of the most adorable outfits! Are you paying a fortune for these?! Where do you shop at?

I just want to look classy - I figured you would be the person to ask...

Okay, you know what i'm going to ask. I am going to do it in the most classy way possible that I can muster.

If you feel comfortable discussing that very sensitive subject of money, can you tell us some details (or ALL, your choice) about how you budget for your family to go on international vacations and afford expensive shoes, while you are also a SAHM? I think it is great! Please don't tell me to clip coupons because coupons make my head explode.

Becca said...

Alright, I have a superficial question...

If you had to give up every pair of shoes you owned except one *yes, I said just one*, which pair would you keep?

Two questions (both already mentioned): How do you stay in shape having 3 little ones around (and having been pregnant 3 times)? Aaanndd, in this economy particularly, how do you manage to have the Louboutins and the international vacations without being an heiress? (um, you aren't an heiress, right?)

I only flew once with my 2 when they were small and it was 100 years aog. I'm totally serious here, Augie Dawgs is flying in a few weeks with TOF and we are totally clueless. So does the classy family eat at home during the week or eat out? If you eat at home how does a busy mommy of three young children find time to cook and what are some of your family favorite meals to cook during the week??

I'm always looking for new ideas instead of the inevitable chicken nuggets and mac and cheese! ;)

First question: If you had three spare hours what would you do?

The other question is probably too hard for a Q and A, but I love your perspective on all matters relating to parenting. When you have more than one child how do you balance their needs when they both need attention at the same time? I'm a new mum of two and it's the hardest thing I struggle with. Baby's pooping on me at the same time that the toddler needs lunch: Arrgggh! Anyway, I love reading the blog, thanks so much for giving so much to all of us day after day.

I have two questions, is that ok? I want to know how you feel about hats. I love hats. Got any favs or suggestions for spring/summer this year?

Also, how do you deal with children wanting to dress themselves? My daughter is six and has some very definite (and NOT always classy) opinions about her clothing. I want her to express herself, but I also want to teach her that NO one ought to wear those sweatpants with "Juicy" written across the butt. And Disney Princess does not need to be plastered across every item in your wardrobe. Any suggestions for how to balance motherly advice with allowing kids to choose their own wardrobe?
