"What are you girls doing?"
"We are pretending." Lola mischievously smiles.
"What are you pretending?"
"We are pretending we are friends. Best friends." She grabs Fifi's hands. "I am 16 and she's 13 and we are on our way to the mall. Two girlfriends." I watched them together as they walked away from me.
"Do you want to buy this one?" Lola offers her a purple polka dot hair bow from her dresser.
"Yesh." Fifi nods.
"You have to look for the red sticker. That means it's on sale."
"Okay." Fifi nods again.
"And. Keep this receipt." Lola hands over an imaginary slip of paper and Fifi accepts it. "You can't return anything without a receipt."
"Yesh. Tank you."
I am going to make a conscious effort not to step inside our local Target this week, on our spring break. I wonder if Target's video cameras have face recognizing software like in Vegas casinos that track the number of times I step foot inside. Heh. I don't even want to know.

That is too cute! "Yesh". hee hee!
Popped over from Clare's blog.
Kids just have the best imagination ~ and it's amazing what they learn too!!
l,

That is the cutest damn thing and totally makes me want want another girl. Thanks a ton. :P
I am seriously reconsidering my wish for a granddaughter. Although my own daughter mostly played teacher rather than Target shopper extraordinaire. Cute cute cute
That is amazing! You've taught them well. *snort*
Amazing what they pick up on and decide to imitate.
I suppose it's better than, "No Fifi. It's two olives--no more, no less. Shaken--never stirred."
Oh, I'm sorry, but I am laughing hysterically!! That's a riot.
I think that is just precious. The exact reason I'm so thrilled that my girls have sisters!
More proof Target is evil and out to corrupt the world.
I love it!
Hey, at least she's teaching her to be frugal!
So sweet. My little girl loves setting up her own shopping boutique in her room (she'll spend hours putting it together). Her clothes/jewelry/purses are displayed with pricetags and there's plenty of Monopoly money for Momma to shop. She even has sales/clearance items. LOVE!
Perhaps I go shopping too much with her too, (wink).
that is so sweet. lets see if they are best friends at 16. lol. you'll have to remind them.
cute, so sweeeeet
Ask my four year old what his favorite store in the world is.. he will tell you Target..
ha.
(ps.. Aaron say yes as YESH too.. too cute)
I swear, I am at Target more then I am at home. I'm obsessed.
That is so adorable though how Lola knows to keep a receipt. She is so stinking sweet. Love those kids of yours.
Look how good you are, though! Teaching them to look for the sale tags. I wish my mom did that for me!
Aw, but look at the bright side - at least you're teaching them to look for the sale items first!
I'll bring the pinot to the Target Anonymous meeting, if we all decide to have a formal gathering. Might not be a bad idea, at least from my credit card's perspective.
Oh my gosh they sound adorable!!
And it sounds like it's too late. As my own daughter would point out - all museums have gift shops you know!
Something tells me Target isn't that high tech. But that doesn't mean security doesn't recognize you! ;oD hehehehe Have a great spring break!
ACK! That is SO CUTE!
adorable! And at least they didn't paint those Target bull's eye logos on their foreheads. Yet.
Like mommy, like daughters? :D
So adorable! There really is nothing like a sister.
Check out my shoes!!!
And this, is why I'm glad I have boys!
Hahah! That is too funny! Kids really do learn from their parents, eh?
"Yesh" is adorable. If Alex isn't saying "ya!" he says "yesssshhhh"
love it!! so cute, and i wouldn't worry about the target monitors:)
This is why I love girls, always someone to shop with ;) They are so cute!!
Awe! So precious.
I can totally relate though. My daughter is constantly bugging me to drive her to "WalMark" and "Charget".
I cannot wait to have another little girl begging for the same thing. Joy.
Those little ears are always listening! Cute story.
Your post should have been called, "Confessions of a Shopoholic". That was to darn cute, my how they learn young.
I thank God everday for not giving me girls because I don't make enought money to support them!LOL!
HA HA HAA! My son refers to Target in everything! We even buy our groceries at Target, my mother is deeply disturbed by his knowledge of "Redsville."
Also sad, my son thinks "money" is made of plastic.
Ha. That is really cute.
Well, at least you've taught them the fundamentals of shopping. You are such a good Mom! : )
Oh, and good luck with that not going to Targe thing...

Too funny. I love kids' imaginations.
I love this.
So much it hurts.
LOVE IT. How cute is that? Little girls just like their mommy :) But seriously, Target rocks. We so need one up here in Canada. I've driven across the border *just* for Target!!
OMG. That's EVERYTHING my wife taught my BOYS(!!!!) about shopping. Somewhere in Cleveland there's a couple of little boys who have NO IDEA what life has in store for them.
I just hope they'll grow up to have good jobs.
I love it!! I get a kick out of the great things our children pick up on!!
They make me laugh.....
My husband isn't allowed to return anything to Target for the rest of the year. Apparently, they keep track of how many times you return things without a receipt--doesn't matter which Target either. He is in the "system."
*snort* you have trained them well.
She is a girl after my own heart!
I see that you deleted your Dad's email post - I understand - I just wanted to say that I think everyone has had things published that are misunderstood. That's just one of the problems with written language.
Hope you are both feeling better today :)
Hey, the girl knows how to spot a bargain! LOL That is so cute that they were playing pretend like that.
my little one will ask me in target: Mama, is this "on sale"??
Hysterical!
No joke, one time, we pulled into WalMart parking lot, and Charlotte said : "YES! HOME!!!" I almost wrecked I was laughing so hard.
She got a walmart shopping cart from my dad for Christmas and she pushes it around the house saying...Go shopping, Go Walmart! Thankfully we haven't been there as regularly as we have been in the past, though. We go to Target sooo much more. I would rather her ask for Target anyday!! ha ha
LOVE it!! Hey, their husbands will thank you for it later. I shudder to think if Target tracks me.
Yesh. Too cute!! I remember playing that we were teenagers...so fun. Couple of little cuties you have there ;)
