16 hour work day

I have been awake since 4am. On my feet since 4am. Fifi has a new schedule... she sleeps from about 7:30pm to 4am - a pretty long stretch considering she is not much of a sleeper. Then she has another long nap at about 9am, after preschool drop off. So here I am, 10am, and I can barely sit up I am so tired. When Jay was an infant he followed a similar sleep pattern - but I was able to nap with my only child. When Lola was an infant, I manipulated her schedule so that I could have both kids sleeping at the same time. With Fifi, I am up on my feet at 4am. I have been up for 6 hours and it isn't even close to lunch time. In the working world of 9 to 5 jobs - I would already have eaten lunch and it would be 3pm. I still have 10 daylight hours left of my work, before the kids are in bed. A total of 16 glorious hours with three children.

People often stop me and say "Wow, you have your hands full." To which I reply, Better full then empty. Seriously why do you need to say that, you think that is original? Just help me out by picking up that paciifer off the Walmart floor, or hold that door open for me, or help Lola off the floor after another clumsy fall. Geez!

Better full than empty...love that! So true.

P.S. The slideshow on your blog is a nice touch!

I'm sorry to hear that your day starts at 4am. It's amazing how the mind starts working, figuring out hours of daylight left and such, when one is so tired. It's past 9am and I'm exhusted beyond belief and I was up at 7am.

A side note about, "you've got your hands full." As a mom of twins I hear that about three times a day! I know how it feels!

I know. I know. People say silly things, without thinking, but silly and annoying.

4 AM is rather early. My 5 month old sleeps well at night (knock on wood) but hardly naps during the day.
