After spending an afternoon at the park with Jay and Lola, I returned home to my husband whom was home with Fifi.
"The Feenster said her first sentence." My husband beamed.
"Awe. She did?"
"Yup. And she's bilingual." He continued.
"Awe. She is? What did she say?"
"Well. I was busy with the dishes and she was busy in the shoe closet and I kept hearing her say shoe shoe shoe over and over again." He explained.
"She does love that shoe closet with all my stilettos. But wait, how was that a sentence or bilingual?" I asked
"She came up to me explaining 'Shoe, siu-siu. Shoe, siu-siu' and she led me to the bathroom." He smirked.
"Oh no."
"Oh yes! She flushed her stinky shoe down the toilet where we go siu-siu." He laughed. The word in Polish for pee-pee is siu-siu, sounds like shoo-shoo.
"Oh no." I laughed at the sight of her wet shoe next to the toilet. "Well. It could have been worst. Thank goodness my Tory Burchs are dry."

ha ha ha ha ha ha!
That kid, she's gonna be your headache :-) I adore her.
She and Monkey, they will be good buddies one day. Believe it. They will also run the world, or at least a small corner of it.
Holy hell. I was first.
I have reached Classy Nirvana.
Oh no!! That is too funny!
Cute!
Haha! That is so cute!
Haha. Yeah, I was afraid for a minute that she put one of yours in!
Too funny! I was worried for your shoes too ;)
Oh, that is PRICELESS!! I'm so glad it wasn't one of your shoes!
Bwahahaha!!! Oh, the poor kid being all confused. Thank goodness your shoes weren't the ones needing a good flush.
LOL!!!!! That is TOO good. No pictures of the poor shoe who couldn't hold it?
Love it! Perfectly cute and excellent bilingual. (And thank goodness it wasn't one of your shoes!)
Adorable! Go FiFi!
SOO cute! The youngest are always up to something when left to their own devices!
Good thing pee-pee in Polish isn't bling bling. This could have been expensive.
You may have to start locking up your shoe closet!
Oh Mommy! You have an award awaiting your beck and call over on my site! Hope it is the beginning of a terrific weekend for you. You are certainly in good company--speaking of the other winners, that is.
I am guest posting today over on Following in My Shoes. Join us in the love fest for Rachel by visiting and commenting!
Happy weekend!
that's great!
learning a second language is one of the best things you can encourage kids to do. i always felt less intelligent when I lived in south texas. everyone down there knew at least two languages.
i still only know one...
Too funny!!! I think I would have cried if they were your Tory Burchs!
Have a great weekend!
Lisa
hee, hee, hee!
That is funny--and thank goodness it wasn't any of your stilettos :)
Oh I would have cried if that were my shoe... and even if I saw my munchkins floating in it... thank goodness your husband had to deal with it, not you!
I love it. Hannah tries to drop stuff in the "potty" all the time. She puts her hand over her mouth and giggles. She thinks it is so funny. Smart girl! Good thing it was her shoe and not yours!
Well, not sure if that is "really" a sentence, but it sure is a phrase! I'm one of the biggest fans of raising bilingual children ever! Just wish I could practice what I preach. :(
And thankfully nobody had to do any plunging! Yikes!
What a smart girl . . .
That's hilarious! What a great story to tell when she gets older too. hehe Better keep an eye on your shoes...they may be next!
BTW, you're so lucky she didn't stop up the toilet. I had one son flush an entire apple, which we didn't know at the time, until the plumber was called in with a snake and found all sorts of things...including an entire apple!
oh, my! I am thinking either:
1) waterproof shoes
or
2) shoe closet that locks
?

Wow. I think I might even flush my shoes down the toilet with such word confusion.
KEEP BELIEVING
That is awesome! And also glad your shoes came through unflushed. I love that your children are learning your native language.
Oh my goodness! She's too funny!
Good thing there isn't a similar sounding word for "Pivo" in the English language -it's the Czech word for beer and we use it a lot around here! ; )
In response to the "Pizza" post - I think it is okay to tell your daughter that stealing seed is not okay. :)
i love your little bilingual fifi! she is just so cute:) how come it is always funnier when other children do these things, than when your own child flushes his shoe down the toilet??
Oh that is too cute!
My eldest used the word for shoes in sign language to mean frustrated when he was a toddler --- it is a long story - but kind of like yours!
Thanks for sharing.
That's really cute. My toddler tries to flush her toys down the potty.
Since this didn't happen to me, I can laugh right? I forget how cute toddlers are. and their thinking? Oh so priceless.
This is hilarious. One smart cookie you have there!
very funny!
Too funny.
