What happens in OH, stays in OH.

It finally stopped snowing in Ohio and temperatures reached a high of 50-something today with a light drizzle of rain. Which meant only one thing here in Cleveland.

Time to bring the patio furniture in before the real snow arrives, for proper winter hibernation, in the garage until Mother's Day.

Although the deck chairs have been covered, the snow managed to creep into and soak each and every single cushion. Oh the joys of Midwestern living. The awesome husband carefully placed each piece in the family room to dry over night.

Fast forward a couple of hours and bring in three energetic kids with one exhausted momma on four hours of sleep that ditched her morning workout, in which the awesome husband is still pissed at her for "throwing the money out the door," on the phone with Toys R Us trying to locate something called the Bakugan Brawlers (that every six-year old boy wants for the holiday season) within a 50 mile radius, her back turned away from her children for no more then four minutes flat, and this is what you get...

No children were harmed. Lots of giggles were exchanged. The cushions are hibernating. And Momma bought some Bakugan Brawlers online while running around frantically making sure everyone was okay which in return burned off the one left-over Kosher hot dog she had for lunch.

Thankyouverymuch.

I have some seriously funny video of my kids on a mattress that we were getting rid of because we'd bought a new one. When the old one came out of our bedroom, hubs said, "Well what are we gonna do with it? We're not going to just throw it away, are we?" so of course it stayed on our living room floor for about a week. Until I put my foot down (on the springs) and moved it to the dumpster.

And, Bakugon? Uh, my 6-year-old begged for those and I was all "Bak-u-WHAT?" and we went to Walmart where he swiftly spent his money on these little balls that he will probably lose in 3 days time. Ah, money well spent. Thankfully it was his own and a future lesson lies in waiting...

LOL!!! That looks like so much fun! I'm coming over to jump on OHmommy's furniture. :)

My son has been into these Bakugans for about nine months now. He LOVES them. They are kind of bizarre, but magnetic little balls that turn into creatures. lol And yes, my son is six, soon to turn seven. That's the right age! hehe

Too funny about the kids and the cushions. That would be the same thing happening in my house too. Too much temptation to resist.

BTW, we have ice pellets falling out of the sky here and didn't go above 28 all day! That's so unusual. I'm loving it. It's cold y'all.

Yah..I would have been right in the middle of that jumping.. right down my alley.. :)

Looks like so much fun!! And my sister is complaining about that Bakugon stuff all weekend.. Glad you found it..she can't find it in a story anywhere!!

Looks like three very happy kids!

This is why I love blogging- so much better to just laugh along and take some pictures.

This weather is crazy! It didn't freeze up like they were telling us/scaring us that it would on the news this morning. I am sure that we won't see another day like this for a while.

Okay I have been on the hunt for some Bakugan Brawlers too. Everywhere has been sold out. Today I got a 2 starter packs online from Toys r Us and then went to Target after work and of course hit the Motherload of them. I came home to try and cancel my order and they said they were not sure the could. Go Figure!

That looks like so much fun. We did that when we were kids but it was with the couch cushions. There were 6 of us kids and someone always got hurt but we always had a blast!

I love it! Kids really are simple when it comes to having fun. Give them some cushions and stand back!

Okay...that looks like TONS of fun! I wish we had some patio furniture pads that needed to hibernate!

I'm glad you got your toy? for Jay. Never heard of the thing, but I can imagine doing that. The things we do for kids!

Good thing you skipped the workout...I don't think the hot dog would have lasted you through the workout and the kiddos.

Those pictures are PRICELESS!!! I think the first one is my favorite though!!!!

This is probably the SAME thing my children would do given those circumstances, and they're 11 and 13!! hehehe

You're such a fun mom.

This looks like fun! My peanut loves to jump on the couch (which is not allowed) and her crib. Every kid needs some fun indoors and it kept them occupied while you located a special Santa gift.

Priceless!

Wait until the kids are older and you have to sell a kidney to buy any one item on their Christmas list. That's when the real fun begins.

I want to come over and jump on the cushions with them. How fun.

My boys love to take the couch cushions off and do that same thing, it drives me crazy. I always worry that someone will get hurt but they have the best time.

Funny, I've never heard of Bakugan till this past week and Noah just HAS to have it for xmas. I needed another idea for him and was excited until I realized it was darn near impossible to find in stores or online. I managed to score a few on amazon.com last night. Sheesh!

I can hear my husband now roaring at the children if I would let that happen! (he is so anal, he will NEVER leave the cushions outside - not one single night)

Looks like they had fun!

As for the "give it to her, she's a baby," we all do it and we all said we wouldn't. How do you make that cycle stop?

Now why didn't I think to do that when we brought in our cushions?! It looks like so much fun.

I am at a loss as to what to get my 7 year old nephew for Christmas. I am going to google "Bakugan Brawlers" now. Thanks for the tip.

How fun! My kids would love it if they had all those pillows to jump on! Have you thought of one of those blow up bouncy things for christmas or birthday? I bet they would love that! My kids have one at grandma's and they want to get in it everytime!

I've been hunting down things too which I can only find online and now have to sell the child it is intended for to cover the express shipping.

I would love to do some lawn furniture jumping right now!!

carrie said...

It got above 50 there? You are so lucky!

We are really in for it over here, or so they say . . . thankfully we got those cushions in last month or we'd have the same jumpfest going on in our living room too! However, we forgot the umbrella, it is out there right now, freezing to death!

Angie @ KEEP BELIEVING said...

I think the Bakugan ball thingies are cute.

Also, I want to jump on those cushions. Looks like fun. And then I want you to come to Illinois and store away my patio furniture. I don't feel like doing it.

They were just helping air out the cushions. Love these action shots. Tell the truth... you did a little jumping yourself... yes?

Karen MEG said...

Hah, my kids love doing that stuff too!!!

Yay, you found some Bakugan!!! I remember going all over town looking for just the right ones. Aren't all the black and purple ones the same one? NO WAY MOM!!!!!

I think we've got some 40-odd in this household as he's been into them for a couple of years now (OMG, I don't even want to think about how much that cost!!!). (BTW- if you haven't purchased it already, don't bother with the arena, they prefer to just roll them on the floor anyway).

Great pix, OM... glad you got your hotdog in anyway :)

I will warn you. We had the rain on Sunday and not 24 hours later dropped below zero. Hope that's not the case for you. Also, we're due to get 13 inches (depending on how the storm tracks) of snow tomorrow afternoon into Friday. I wish I had the rain back! (Even though it ruined my son's snow fort!)

Mandy said...

My little one would have loved to do this!!!

If you get snowed in and it gets energy off? I say you pull it out again when necessary.
