Mother of a goose egg...

This is the house that OHmommy built. *

This is the poptart
That lays (
on 1000 thread count sheets) in the house that OHmommy built.

This is the child,
That ate the poptart
That lays in the house that OHmommy built.

This is the Lego droid,
That slipped the child,
That ate the poptart
That lays in the house that OHmommy built.

This is the dirty door,
That stood by the Lego droid,
That slipped the child,
That ate the poptart

That lays in the house that OHmommy built.

This is the mom with the crumpled paper towel,
That cleaned the dirty door,
That stood by the Lego droid,

That slipped the child,
That ate the poptart
That lays in the house that OHmommy built.

This is the hurt child all forlorn,
That cried to the mom with the crumpled paper towel,
That cleaned the dirty door,
That stood by the Lego droid,
That slipped the child,
That ate the poptart
That lays in the house that OHmommy built.

That made my heart stop a little. But what a way to tell a story. It reminded me of "The Napping House", but with more action.

I heard Santa feels sorry for little girls with big bumps on their heads and leaves them extra presents under the tree.

It's just what I've heard.

(I may take some grey eyeshadow to my forehead this year to test out this extra present theory...)

I love that first picture of Fifi, the look on her face is priceless! Poor thing. :(

kim-d said...

Awww...Fifi's poor little noggin! Now that is a goose egg. And I'm not 100% sure, but it doesn't look like she ingested much of that Pop Tart. Thank Heaven for OHMommy and paper towels :)!

holy cow! When chicken first got one of those (as my second child NEVER got a goose egg), I almost ran him to the ER. i tried to relax, but wound up calling my pediatrician instead. Thank goodness for wonderful doctors who calmed me down!

BTW, I've got a Twilight giveaway on my website if you're interested going on until thursday. Just FYI for everyone here. ;oD

Holy goose egg, batman!

Isn't it amazing how resilient these kids are? If that happened to me, I'd be writhing for weeks. :)

Wowwie Owwie! My arms actually felt limp when I saw that picture! So, I can't imagine how you felt!
I am so over pop-tarts! I have one spot on the carpet, where a certain little someone smashed them into the carpet. Very creative post!

Oh no, a goose egg! Well, toddlerhood would not be complete without at least one of those.

I hope you survived ok. :)

Neat way to tell such an adventurous story. I am sorry about fifi's goose egg. Pookie had one of those when she was two. I was hold her and washing her hands at the mall and as I reached over to get a paper towel she slipped and bam. A big goose egg popped up. We rushed her to the hospital because she was like a limp noodle and they thought she had a mild concussion. They said it would spread down her face into one big ugly bruise but it didn't.

I have cheerios laying all over our house. They seem to just want to jump right out of the bowl.

Oh poor thing, that is a bad one, ouch! Extra hugs for Miss Fifi today. :)
Loved your story telling, reminded me of one of my kids' all time favorites, The Napping House.

That poptart in the bed would send my hubby into fits...

Stephanie said...

Poor baby girl...look at that bump! Still a beauty though! Apparently we have to be careful of those Legos :)

Kalle said...

Wow that truly is one mother of a goose egg. I hope she's feeling better.

Tara R. said...

I'm glad The Boy finally outgrew Legos. I cannot tell you how many I've stepped on or sucked up in the vacuum. I hope Fifi is okay.

The Daily Stroll said...

Poor thing! She is one tough cookie because that is a pretty big goose egg! I think toddlers are drawn to these accident prone objects in a room! Jonah always finds them! I will tell you that pop tarts in the bed on 1000 thread count sheets is much better than finding your 18 month old drawing with a pen on your 1000 thread count sheets which is what Jonah did! But if these things didn't happen what in the world we we blog about?? ;) Hope Fifi feels better soon!

BusyDad said...

Now there's a nursery rhyme that I finally understand!! Those droids are slippery little buggers (and painful as hell when stepped on!).

tiarastantrums said...

oh poor dear wee one!
I was thinking of The Napping House as I was reading this!
Hope she feels better!

Fabulous post!!!!!!

and look at that bump. OW!!!!

Unknown said...

Awwww, poor baby!! I used to freeze my lips - kissing those sorts of things to make them better. I used ice cubes and I would hold them to my lips and then kiss the owey on the forehead of the child in question - because they always hated the ice directly on the bump - but they would always take a kiss. Makes my lips cold just looking at her bump.
