"You look adorable."
"I don't like this dress."
"Oh, Lola. You look so adorable. Just like Hannah Montana."
"Mom. Hannah Montana isn't adorable. She is COOL." Lola pouts while getting dressed this morning.
"Mama! I found my five dollars. It was my under the red shield!!!" Jay skips in the room, already dressed to start the day.
I tell the kiddos to tiptoe past the master bedroom, in which the Feenster baby is still asleep next to my husband, after a very long and sleepless night. I see Lola trying to hide her giggles and Jay glares at her, "Shhhh... you will wake them." We are on a secret spy mission to make it to Dunkin Donuts before the school bus comes. Before Daddy wakes. Before the sun wakes.
A morning date with my growing children... one sassy and one responsible. Where I am going to tell them to stop growing.
** Called our humane society and turns out our male cat was fixed. Thanks to so many of you for educating me. I had no idea feline male parts were so hard to find. **

My grandmother used to take me out to breakfast and would swear to 'put rocks in my socks' to keep me little. These really are the things you never forget.
Dunkin Donuts! I swear those don't exist on Tulsa. And YAY! For Jay, finding his fiver! Good work, mom. :)
I'd forgotten that you'd gotten your kitten at the Humane Society. They don't adopt out until their animals are fixed.
Sounds like a perfect way to start the day....when you find out how to stop them from growing up...let me know!!
Glad to hear the cat mystery was solved and the money was found...Hooray!!
Enjoy your weekend:)
Lisa
Great!! Jay found his money! Is he springing for the donuts?
You a SUCH a fun MOM!!!!! And so thiurlled Jay found his $
That is awesome you let Jay find the money on his own.. and WOO HOOO to secret trips!!
Bricks on their heads hasn't been working?
I am already experiencing the clothing argument with Corinne. Yet my boys STILL let me dress them...
hope you had fun!
Geesh mom....you didn't know that Hannah Montana was cool and not adorable. Shame on you. ;0)
Glad you found your cats man parts, or sort of anyway. I was well educated after reading the comments too. Very interesting.
seriously, how do they get so big so fast? yesterday I received next years school calendar that includes Goosey's first day of kindergarten. August 10. I literally lost my breath & started crying. how did this happen?
Now THAT'S classy!! Sneaking out to DD's with the kids before school. Your kids are SO going to love growing up with you.
I love those secret rendevous with the children so early in the morning, such a special time!
~K
I love mornings like those. And yes. They NEED to stop growing so fast!
The cat thing is how i ended up with a male cat named Fluffy. He looked like a chick to me!!!
hope you have a great date with #1 & #2!!
Going to get breakfast with Jonah in the mornings is one of my favorite things to do!
When you find out the secret to stop them from growing up please share! I want to keep Jonah 2.5 forever!!
Hope it was fun.
Yuck for the rough night. Hopefully, you don't ever have another one.
Did Jay treat you to the donuts with his five-spot? No? That would have been nice, though.
Glad you got Tod all figured out.
And, when you figure out the growing thing...let me know.
Your kids are so lucky to have you creating these little memories for them...I remember going to Baskin Robins Ice cream after school...
I have two daughters, one sassy and one responsible ! Ha ha
Yummy! We are giving up sweets for a little while to get our weight down then we will plan a splurge time once a month. I love dunkin donuts. Enjoy one for me.
I am glad you found out what was going on. I did not know when they fixed a cat it all comes off. Crazy!
Yummie idea!
Sounds yummy. And YAY for Jay being persistent and getting motivated. I hope you made it to the donut store. :)
They do grow fast don't they? Morning trips before school are so cool.
Did you get your Dunkin? Glad you had time with the 2 older ones.
Yeah tell me how that works out for you, where you tell them to stop growing, because I have been unsuccessful so far.
Geez mom. She looks COOL. Not adorable!
Can you tell I've had this talk with my son??
Sounds like the perfect, PERFECT way to start a day.
Sorry about your sleepless night. I wish I was closer. Since I'm up anyway, I may as well hang out with your Feenster.
By the way, how do you do that? Tell the kids to stop growing? In two days Gracie will be seven. And a few weeks after that, Isaac will turn ELEVEN. Bah!
so sweet, I can't wait for the days when I can have a morning date with my kids! They're still too grouchy!!! ;oD
Hannah Montana is making the round in our house this week too! What is the deal???? Must be something in the air. Either way, I think we're both in for it. I so wish we lived closer so we could meet for drinks and comiserate.
Yes, Madeline is not cute anymore. If I want an outfit to have a chance, it looks "cool." Hair must be cool, not cute. Cute is so last year.
I love the morning date idea, think I could get one of them to go after the 4am bottle. LOL
to this day, i still love sneaking off with my 14-year-old daughter, just the two of us.
i wish i could bottle that.
So, when my husband get's neutered will his be taken off too? Interesting...
Good for you for taking them on such a fun adventure! You are a very classy mama to think of such things. I have to remember that for when mine are a bit older.
We sometimes do a early morning donut run on the weekends. Hmmm... we have a morning errand tomorrow, I think a cruller would be perfect for breakfast.
ok...seriously...i just laughed through my nose about your male cat issue...
and as for dunkin donuts...
it's right alongside my addiction to constantly checking emails, my iphone, laptop, blogs...
i LOVE dunkin donuts coffee. and if i don't feel like getting out of the car..shhh...i go across the street to mcdonalds...they have a decent sugar free vanilla latte...
It's nice to spend time with the older kids - they do grow up so fast!
Have a great weekend, P - see you soon - Kellan
Oh how fun--they will remember that little trip :)
Found your blog thru Domestic Extraordinaire thru Mommy Story... Nice to find fellow Ohio bloggers.
And mmmmm, Dunkin Donuts. Yum. Haven't had those since NJ. That makes me hungry.
Hannah Montana, isn't she just the best haha. Or uh..coolest. Haha.
If you figure out how to get your kids to stop growing.. PLEASE tell me.
I'm so happy he found his 5 dollars!
You actually make it out of your house BEFORE the bus comes? I am even more in awe of you!
such a fun morning! dunkin donuts yummy!
Very cute! I tell my oldest sun I'm going to put bricks on his shoulders so he can't grow.
I'm glad Jay found the money!
I wish there was a real-life fountain of youth. I would toss my kids in for a swim right NOW.
Sylvia said a character had a royal flush. I had that moment of, why does she know that? Oh yeah. She's growing up. *sigh*
It's early, so anything with donuts sounds good right now!
Why do they have to get so big so fast? It's so bitterswwet! We don't want them to become independant, but we love to see them learn the things we have tried to teach. Great post!~
don't grow up. ah, the three words that any mom knows. scary how quickly the little ones grow. at least you are wise enough to slow down and realize...
Oh, I hear you. Don't you just want to freeze them some days?! (and we so do the D&D trips when Daddy's away :))
That is so fun, I would not have time for that in the morning unless I got up earlier. We get up 1/2 hour before the bus comes.
Darn growing kids. I know how you feel. We all do of course. It's universal.
Wish I could freeze my G right now. He's at such a cute age (20 months) and I just want to eat him up!
Hope the donuts were good (well of course they were, duh!) ; )
Yay for money...yay for donuts!
