It has been 12 weeks. Nearly 40 breathless, gasping for air, muscles twitching, horribly exhausting, gut wrenching, early morning, fitness boot camp workouts.
Looking GOOD hurts. BAD.
Honestly though. It has been a while since I invested in myself, my mental well being, and my physical health. It feels good.
I encourage you to invest in yourself too. It is so easy to lose track of yourself, especially as a mother constantly putting yourself before your children. But, if Mama ain't happy no one is happy. Right?
Let's start now.
You like shoes, yes?
Eeeek, me too!!!!
I have the most awesomest of awesome boots for you.
They are the $220 "Sexy snowbunny" boots from YOU by crocs. Seriously girlfriends, they are super duper sexy and trust me they will make you smile this winter season.
They are YOURS. Not mine, sigh. I'm pointing to YOU.
1. Leave me one comment before midnight EST this Sunday the 23rd, telling me what YOU do to invest in yourself.
2. YOU can have a chance to enter twice. Write a blog post about this contest linking me and you can leave me another comment. Don't forget to add your post's url. The last winner of my shoe giveaway was a blogger whose 2nd comment was picked.

4. I will announced the winner here, on Monday, along with the winner of my sled giveaway.
Smooches girlfriends and good luck. Invest in yourself! Thanks YOU.

«Oldest ‹Older 1 – 200 of 232 Newer› Newest»oh ... those almost made me cry...
it has been AGES since I've gotten anything for ME.
Groovy giveaway, friend. Groovy.
Crocs that look like Uggs?
Now I am depressed.
What do I do to look after me? When I am feeling very meh, I skip work and sit on my fat butt eating chocolate.
No skinny jeans in my future huh?
you are amazing!!! please let me win...btw hot legs mama!!
Ehhh, what do I do for me...hmmm...I guess not much BUT get my hair done every 6 weeks. Thats like my most fave thing to do and maybe once a year I have a girls night out. :)
WOoHOooo!
I schedule a girls' night out ... with inspiring, motivating women! (Never mind something comes up half the time and we have to cancel...)
Oh my... I invest in myself, for sure. I don't mean just pedicures and clothing. Those fall under necessities of life for me. I mean investing in my future and making sure that little old 80 year old isn't eating kitty food just to survive. I have spent the last couple of years slowly building a photo business. Just this week, I was finally able to set up my studio. It's amazing how turning a hobby into a profit has changed my life, both financially and mentally.
Those are some kick ass boots!
Love them!
So, what do I do? Ummmmmmmmmm! Get me hair done, pedicures, read, schedule some girl's nights out with my best girls, eat chocolate, work out, SHOP!! Whatever I can squeeze in between the demands of family and work, really.
I scheduled an appointment to see a therapist and went today. It's something I've been needing to do for a long time, for myself. I neglect myself badly, and I need to make myself a priority once again.
What do I do to invest in myself? *sigh* not enough. I do however take myself to my hair stylist every 5-6 weeks so she can keep my 'do shaped nicely and wax the brows for me.
Well, Like most moms, I tend to neglect myself, but I really try to get out and have some me time! My friend and I did a half marathon last year! Talk about doing something great for yourself! Every 6 weeks, that same friend of mine schedule our hair appointments at the same time and then stay out all day! There are also times during the week, when one of us (or most of the time, both)is having a crappy day, so after the husbands come home and the kids are in bed, we take off and go do some window shopping with a Sonic drink or Starbucks. On Sundays, we do our grocery shopping together. Hey, it's the little things! You know the saying,"If momma ain't happy, then no ones happy!"
Those are simply GORGEOUS! I don't much care for Crocs and have never seen Ugg-alikes that I wanted, but you combine the two and WOWWIE!!!
Oh, and what would I do for me? I'd love to be able to take a vacation completely alone ... on a warm sandy beach ... with enough money to get a massage each time it came to mind. All while sipping on tasty fruity drinks.
Oooh, so pretty!! :) I'll begin investing in my gym routine again once cold and flu season leaves. The kids are too sick for me to put them in gym daycare! Your skinny jeans rock, btw. :)
Oh I would love a pair of sexy boots. After 9 months of baby growing, I am so due for some investing in myself!
What do I do for myself? I blog.
It's therapy, community, and educational all rolled in one. I've become a better writer and a better mother.
I'm not a crocs fan and haven't ever owned a pair, but DANG those are some hawt boots!
OhMommy - I don't invest $220 in anything these day so it's worth a shot.
The only investment I make in myself is to keep the chaos to a minimum at night so I can sneak in, kiss my kids good night before I curl up for a good night's sleep...because when I wake up, there's little time for me.
what do i do to invest in me? honestly? i take care of my children mostly. the money i earn from working for my dad...goes to my kids. but...i just applied for a brochure for baker college...to take computer classes...to finish my bachelors degree? dunno. but...that's how i'm PLANNING on investing in me!!
and...i have to figure out how to get a feed on my blog. no clue what i'm doing!!! off to figure it out!!
xoxo
I'm such a contest whore, I already told everyone to come to your site. Then I challenged them to invest an hour in themselves over the weekend. My investment this weekend will involve brand new cable television!!!
http://thethirddegree.wordpress.com/2008/11/19/want-some-free-shoes/
I would LOVE these boots. Nice giveaway. You totally rock!
I posted about it.
http://texaswordtangle.blogspot.com/2008/11/awesome-giveaways.html
Once a month I get together with the girls for Bunco. Those three hours are what I look forward to all month!!! After this baby I will be investing in the gym!! :)
What an AWESOME giveaway!!! :) Thanks!!
those ARE yummy. my feet are so badly abused by my stilettos that i need some comfortable snuggly boots this winter. i reward myself by having wine and dinner with my best girls. there's nothing better than that.
You just reminded me I need to start running again.. but that is my number one thing I do for me..run. Running makes me sane.
What a great giveaway Oh!! They are awesome..
OMG! Gorgeous!!! Love your skinny jeans. And momma, you've inspired me. I'm always doing for everyone but me. And it's my turn. You have no idea. But I want some skinny jeans too. Anyway.....love those boots. Here's to hoping it's me this time!
I allow the YMCA day care to watch my daughter for 3 hours a week and I sweat out the mommy stress.
I have a date night (with makeup/cute clothes/small purse/no goldfish crackers) twice a month at least.
LOVE LOVE!
what do i do to invest in myself...well, on Saturday i had a 90 min massage for only $39 (pre-tip) b/c of a promotion. i haven't had a massage for almost 2 years but that was a great recent investment.
I love that you take the time for yourself...and it's good for you!
And, shoes! Momma needs!!
So, after I get the all clear from the doctor next week, I'm jumping back on that elliptical and losing this muffin top! That's what I'm doing for me!
I make sure that I take a shower and make sure that I eat well!! I invest in eating!! I love the boots though!
I hope I win!!
I like to hang out with my friends. That is the best kind of therapy!
Those are gorgeous! LOVE THEM. To invest in myself, I usually go out all alone and take some time to just take in the peace and quiet. Drink a huge coffee and look at magazines. Ahhh, I'm needing that right now.
You are looking fantastic!
The last thing I did for myself...a pedicure two weeks ago. And it felt so good. I need to get back into my workout routine though, I'm sure it's better for me than a pedicure. :)
oh, sweet shoes. sweet, beautiful shoes that this momma needs more than air itself!
it's hard to "invest" in 'you' when you have 2 under 3 and the recession has hit home. but - i try to get a good night's sleep, enjoy the simple things in life, watch Top Chef and daydream about cooking like they do and have at least one good belly laugh a day (courtesy of my kiddos, no doubt)! cheesy - but, you've gotta work with what'cha got!
and as my husband says - a happy wife, a happy life...

Life in the Village
http://theeverittfamilyblog.blogspot.com/
Great contest! I come home from work for lunch everyday. Sometimes I take a bath during my lunch break, sometimes I nap, sometimes I surf the 'net, sometimes I watch Oprah on satellite, twice a week I go for a run - my lunch break is MY time! I'm also very thankful that I live 7 min away from work.
Oh, I like those. What I do for myself? I do go to the gym 4-6 days a week. And I make time to read. I will be blogging about these boots soon.
For myself, I wear comfortable shoes. I could never make it in your stilettos girl! Boots I wear all the time. Hope I win.
I have a monthly moms night out where I can hang out with my friends and forget about kids, husbands, and work for a little while. It does a lot to refresh me.
And I try to get a massage once every month or two also.
Great giveaway! I never buy much for me, and these boots look great!
I don't do much for myself. I'd go naked to get an extra anything for my baby. I'd love the boots! Thanks YOU!
OK, here's my post:
http://eddienalexa.blogspot.com/2008/11/shes-at-it-again-folks.html
Crossing my fingers and toes. Mememe!
Um, those boots are adorable.
Currently, I'm back in school getting further educated. This is a huge time commitment (even just 1 class a semester) as well as a financial commitment but I feel better about myself with this new found knowledge. It was a monumental choice to make for myself, but it's been quite worth it.
(Congrats on the skinny jeans. You worked hard and it shows! Major kudos!)
Oh how much fun! I attend a writer's group every other Saturday as a way of investing in me.
hey... look... i blogged you...
http://theeverittfamilyblog.blogspot.com/2008/11/momma-needs-new-paira-shoes.html
shoes, please?!
I do pilates once/week, while husband stays home. And I give myself at least one leisurely stroll through Target before picking my son up from daycare, out of my 3 day week.
I read books for me. It allows me some time to forget about all that's going on and just enjoy some entertainment!
I just invested in me today! I bought a ticket to join my best friend for three days in Vegas at the end of January. It feels selfish and guilt-inducing, but I'm going anyway!
Those boots made me break my lurker status!
Maybe if I wore these boots, I wouldn't feel like I should be a What Not to Wear nominee on most days.
To invest in myself, I do two things: I read my scriptures, and I blog. They both refuel me and help me to find the positive among the mundane.
Love those boots :)
For me--I wake up at 4:30, read some Bible and then go to Spin class. I am so out of whack if I don't--ask my kids!
It seems like for so long I haven't invested anything into my physical well-being because I was totally nourishing the mental well-being, what with my photography and writing. But, lately, I've been kicked in the gut and pretty much realized that I need to take care of the body that houses the mind. Without the care, the mind will wither. So, I'm investing in my physical fortitude. Slowly, one small step at a time. Slowly, one healthy morsel of food at a time. Slowly, on giant leap into a healthy lifestyle.
Mnogu gi sakam tie! Daj mi molimte.. *se smejam...malce!
Those are nice enough I'm interested.
What do I do for me? Buy more OPI nail polish. :)
The little things I do to invest in myself....morning coffee, read a good book, curl up and watch a favorite show, time in my craft room, go out to eat with my girlfriends. Unfortunately, I don't do enough of those things....other than the morning coffee that is!!
I love to take a nice long, hot shower with no baby screaming at the top of her lungs.
And every once in a while, I take a nice long nap.
Just for me.
Lovin' those boots!! :D
Ohhhhhh now those are pretty boots! I would look SO classy walking to pickup sweet Madeline from school in those books.
I am working on that whole "investing in me" thing. I have to decide when/where/what I want to do to lose these baby lbs. But it is gonna happen soon, because they aren't falling off with the "nothing to eat after dinner" plan. And I am NOT buying new clothes until I am down another size. BUT these boot will fit and they will class up my not so skinny leg jeans.
for me... humm... the hubs and i try to go out for dinner alone or with friends but with NO children. on this "hot date" i like to allow myself a classy drink or two. i also enjoy lunches alone and shopping at target alone.
i need those boots girl! please, please let me win! i sound desperate... because i am. they really are AWESOME!
when I can, I love to get a massage! I would love to win! Thanks!
i wrote a post for you.
here is my second chance.
maybe this will be my lucky number!!

Hailey
Oh I love how you can wear them 2 different ways! Those totally rock!
And congrats to you on all your hard work! WOW!
I invest in myself with the occasional massage or spa treatment because well you just have to take time out for yourself!
I treat myself to pedicures. My toes will look great tucked inside those boots! You're doing a fitness boot camp? Tell me more ...
Congrats on making it through 12 weeks of hell. I knew you could do it! And you look great. SO rocking those skinny jeans.
What do I do to invest in myself? You know it: same as you. Squat 155 lbs, deadlift 140 lbs, lunge 95lbs. It feels good to be strong(physically AND mentally). My next investment will be to assemble a decent wardrobe...but I need a stylist. Are you up for it?
For me, it's as simple as a locked bathroom door, bubbles, and a glass of wine. Time by myself is the best investment.
Ohh...since my hubs has been overseas I make sure and do lots to invest in myself. I started walking 3 miles a day and as a treat I go to the library once a week and check out tons of books to read once the girls our in bed!!!
What do I do for myself? I spend my evenings after the kids are in bed doing what I want...no chores, no errands.
Love the boots!
Ugh, gorgeous boots. I only wish my size 5.5 feet (6 on a bloated day) would look good in them!
Right now I just make sure to read for myself, write when I can and BREATHE when I've had enough!
Want. Those.
I treat myself to tennis. I do it for me...makes me feel good to go beat that ball up every week:P
Want. Those. Shoes!
I know I'm not the only one who does this, but I have got to have my hair done. Six weeks is stretching it. By week 5, I am ready to wear a bag on my head!
I also love buying accessories. You can make a shirt look diferrent, just by changing you jewels!
I've lost thirty pounds since my birthday (in June), and I am halfway to my sixty pounds in a year goal. I've got more, but I think this warrants a blog entry, too ;)
For real, those boots would solve all of my winter wardrobe dilemmas.
What I do for me? I put my kids to bed at 7:00. I pay a lot of money to get my hair done by my gay boyfriend who makes me feel edible. I cycle. I watch trashy tv and devour fashion magazines.
Are those the Sweetheart Jeans? I love mine!
oh those boots are fab-u-lous! And they would be een more fabulous here in Alaska.
What do I do for me???? Hmm...I read. Sounds kind of simplistic...but reading does wonders for my mental well being. I also make sure I foster my relationship with my fabulous girl friends who support me (& I them) whne thhings get tough.
okay first I just want to say - Can I please have a copy of whatever cover letter you use to get all these companies to give you freebies????????????
Secondly, on to the giveaway - with three kids it is soooo hard to do anything for myself. So. blogging is for me - for my sanity.
But the one thing I will NEVER give up is getting my nails done! Every two weeks, me and my little Mai have a meet and greet with my nails! Love acrylic nails (very short though) and I will have them until I'm 99!!
Those boots are awesome!!! I've been looking for a fancy pair... to keep me warm in Texas?! lol.
As a college student I don't get to splurge much.. but about 9 months ago I reduced my intake of processed foods to about 10% of my diet! I have since fell in love with cooking! So I'd say that's an awesome investment!
THe investment in myself is with help from my amazing parents and my wonderful husband. Without them I wouldn't get a chance to have dinners out with friends/ Bunco/ and date nights with hubby each month. All things that recharge my batteries to manage a home with 3 wild children (in a good way!)
If only they weren't fur-detailed...sigh.
Oooh, I was just thinking that I need to get some boots this winter! Those look cool.
My post today is also about taking care of ourselves!
I love to take a drive up to the candle factory in the Poconos and browse their goodies when I need a little "me time".
Thanks for the giveaway, LOVE those boots!
Ohh laa laa - I would love those boots - I NEED boots!
Well, I have really started investing in me. On September 9 I started a weight management prgram at my local hospital - since then, I have lost 42 pounds - and counting! I am now taking time EVERY day to exercise - either going for walks, to my boot camp class or playing soccer - I have never felt better - nor have I ever committed this much to myself - nor, have I ever parented better. Yep, by looking after myself, I have been re-energized and I simply have a better attitude towards my three short-loud people.
I PROMISE to post about this contest tomorrow - it will fit right into my planned topic...though, gotta say, will not be encouraging people to enter the contest - since, I want to win.
LOVE your skinny jeans - you rock!!!!
investing in ME. hmmm. there's not a lot of that happening in my world, except for the occasional starbucks before work or the rare girls night out. investing in me means making sure the family is happy, and for now that's all i need. i'm sure i'll hit a point where that's not enough anymore-- because certainly, my own sexy boots are now five, six-ish years old and are no longer giving me that hot MILF look.
thanks for doing this!
I love the boots and we're moving back to the midwest in two weeks so I need them! :)
To invest in myself:
I usually exercise, although I have been on a down cycle lately
I also get myself pedicures about once a month. When else can I just sit adn read a book?
Did you pre-read my post today about my winning streak? These are so mine.
I do a lot for myself. Facials, gym, leisurely fun sports, retail therapy AND I sleep well. Without letting anything else neglect, home, child and otherwise! But, alas, it is never enough because I WANT those boots!!
And daaaammmmnnn Gina. Your legs are looking killer in those skinny jeans, off to Old Navy for a pair of the Sweetheart.
I invest in myself with workouts at the gym, bike rides with my kiddos, and my nightly glass of vino.
A perfect trifecta.
All I'm missing is those Sexy Snowbunny boots!! :)
Sadly, this list should really be much longer and roll off my tongue...alas. But, one thing I do for myself is run a non-profit on the side of mommydom. Keeps my sanity, keeps my mind moving past diapers but alas all happens during naptime, early morning and Curious George!
I wish my list were better. I don't do much for myself these days. Recently, I went clothes shopping and ::gasp:: bought things for myself (NOT my son)! It was truly wonderful. I do go to a nice salon for hair cuts and waxing, so that is something I do for myself.
Hope I win! Super cute!
Loven those boots. Crocs sure have come a long way.
What do I do for myself?
Alot, now that the kiddos are all in school full time. I do the boot camp thing too. I'm not any skinnier but my arms sure are looking buff these days.
Going out with some friends this Saturday from 9am till midnight for an entire day of scrapbooking. I do that every now and then for myself.
I could go on all day...I get lots of "me time".
I'll try to post about this later this afternoon and leave another comment...cuz those boots are hot.
I escape into a book! Or have girls game night with friends. We play Tripoley.
What do I do to invest in me? I blog, I participate to social networks, I make new friends. This may seem like a given, but trust me, it isn't. When you are an expat, when you start life with a newborn in a new country for the second time in a few years, when you are looking after everybody else's needs and routines except yours and you are wiped out... it can take some effort to get yourself out there.
But if you do, you'll be rewarded. I made new friends, some that I'm sure I'll have for good; I feel better about myself, and I am happier with myself.
It's a workout for the soul :-)
Woman, that opening set of opening paragraphs in this particular post was almost pornographic. In a good way.
I've been taking a little breather, that's how, trying to get a better handle on life.
You're always so much fun!
*EEEK!*
I LOVE SHOES TOO! :)
Investing in yourself is a lot easier said than done. Isn't that surprising? The number one person in our life is the hardest to take care of!
Between being a senior fashion student (can you say hectic!?) to teaching fitness classes (I don't even get a good work out when I teach) to planning events for my sorority and then trying to be a good daughter, roommate and girlfriend, where is my "ME" time?
So I get up at 7 am 4-5 times a week to run. In the the freezing cold, rain, in sweltering hot, there is no excuse. No matter how tired I am, as I'm finishing the last stretch of that run, hot, sweaty, sore feet and sometimes ravenously hungry, I feel so so good and so thankful I am able to run and "treat" myself. (Talk about endorphin high!)
It's not shopping (now THAT I could 24hrs/7 days a week) or pampering, it's making the time to commit to habits that will hopefully "pay off" when I'm old and gray (well, I'll always be a brunette! :)
Yay for shoe giveaways!!
Investing in me...well I am training for and running a half marathon. It's actually with a group of friends and I've gained 3 pounds instead of losing...but it's an investment.
Those boots are so cute! What do I do? I have girl's night out...often!
I love this post. I was thinking the same thing as you, I love your shoes.
I don't do much for myself but I do want to start working out for my health. I also get my hair done once a quarter. Sometimes I go shopping by myself or grab a coffee at Starbucks.
Every now and then I may go out with a girlfriend for lunch or breakfast.
I know it is sad. We do need to invest more time in ourselves.
Aside from the fact that I have been COVETING these exact boots since your last croc post sent me to their site...and the fact that I should TOTALLY be given boots to test drive by croc to review because I am a huge fan...I mean HUGE. Besides all that...
I will humble myself and BEG that I win. Okay PRAY that I win. SO God...if you are not too busy with like REAL issues could you sorta do your magic and make this happen for me? Mamma needs those boots....
(CC you need to allow name/url for comment. All I can do is login under my OLD blog. and that sucks)
Amen.
OMG - those are great...I LOVE THEM!!!
I agree with your statement - investing in yourself is very important. For me, it helps keep my sanity which means, running. I run, every week I run a little bit further and for me it will culminate at the St. Jude Marathon in 2 weeks. I'm excited and terrified all rolled into one, but yes, it's an investment that is well worth every ounce of energy and effort I put into it.
~K
Great giveaway! Those boots are fabulous. You also look great in those skinny jeans. :)
What do I do to invest in myself? I work out and feel so much better when I do. Minnow and I power walk when it's not too cold and I'm going to run my first 1/2 marathon in May.
It's hard to invest in yourself while you are on a budget. I an one of those moms who had kids and lost site of herself. Yesterday, I paid out a layaway at Cato that had a sweat jacket that wasn't a NEED but a want. I was proud of myself for doing this because I really considered exchanging it for much need jeans.
I'm also taking the time to work on my. Working out! Something I have never committed to.... until now!
Now Gimme Those BOOTS!! HOT!
Those boots are gorgeous!!!
What I do to invest in myself? Not much. BUT....last week, I did call a girlfriend of mine to watch my 20 month old, so me and the "unborn baby" could get a nap. Funny thing was that I spent the whole time cleaning my house, and then ate lunch in about 2.5 seconds so I could go pick her back up. So much for rest, right?
My best investment ever....healthy eating, lots of excerise and making both fun!
I LOVE these boots and I am in awe of your stamina.
I have to say the best investment I make in myself is getting a good night's sleep. I miss out on a lot of me time sometimes but I force myself to get in bed and turn out the light because I find it's the investment I can make in looking and feeling good.
I just wrote a post about your awesome give away. Here is my link
http://mommynotes.wordpress.com/2008/11/20/invest-in-you/
my email: mwshores@bellsouth.net
Posted about you! Mostly about your boots, though!
http://divaattitudes.blogspot.com/2008/11/investing-in-mom.html
I get my nails done religiously. It makes me feel pretty and it's a whole hour to myself.
Hi Oh. What I do to invest in myself? I don't think it has to be monetary... I read books and go to bible study. I spend time with my girlfriends. As a matter of fact, every year I go to Florida for one week with 3 girlfriends. No kids, no spouses, just girls. It's so awesome - relaxing, swimming, thinking. No dishes, no laundry, no chores. It recharges me.
I'm am so guilty of not taking care of myself. I'm really trying to do better. I read for quite time.
Gorgeous boots!! I'm so excited for this chance!!
One little thing that helps me recharge is just a quiet, nice long shower or a bath... alone. When my husband has the baby or sometimes at nap. I love it.
Ooooh... boots!
I invest in myself every Tuesday and Friday at African dance class... our instructor works. us. out. for an hour, and then, at the end, encourages us to wrap our arms around our bodies and give ourselves a hug and a pat on the back... because it's always available to us, even if no one else hugs us or gives us credit for all the things we do. It's a powerful moment. And makes me feel damn good.
So will those boots!
Bring it on, sis... bring it on.
To invest in me I usually buy lingerie. It makes me feel sexy and is a nice surprise for the hubby. hehe
Excellent Giveaway! Best of luck to everyone!
OK!! Sign me up for the warm and pretty boots!!!
I'm entering for my wife...I don't think they would fit me. :) To invest in myself? I'm teaching myself Japanese and learning what I need to know to get some more computer certifications. Hopefully in investing in myself, I can help my family.
Of course, being able to get a Nintendo Wii would be fun, too...
Hi, I'm Chelsea and I am addicted to shoes. Admitting you have a problem is the first step. Entering a give-away to win some free is the second step.
I think I could use those boots...it's snowing out today!
I started playing tennis again a couple of times a week to invest in myself. It's great fun, great exercise and I am totally focused when doing.
I think I need bootcamp next to shape up my "boot"
Yep, I go to the gym for class 3-4 times a week (including Boot Camp, which my husband likes to call Booty Camp~).
I volunteer too, which seems like an oxymoron - but it gets me out of the house, with adults and it just makes me feel good :)
I like to walk. Just turn up my iPod loud, put on my running shoes, and go for a walk. It is surprisingly wasy to forget your troubles when you are walking. I am up to 4 miles, 3 times a week. I have even started to walk/jog/walk/jog, which is a big deal for a lifetime non-runner. I just wish the pounds came off a little faster!
Once a week I get together with a girlfriend and we try out new recipes and watch our shows! No husbands or boyfriends or people who judge.
Oh those are nice! It's good to invest in yourself! After all you are the one that does ALL the work! :) I have three girls and I always get caught up on THEM, THEM, THEM! But I take time every evening after they go to bed and I scrapbook, make cards and sew because I LOVE IT! :) It's my time... so that means I also get to do all the crafty shopping too~! :)
I plan a spa weekend twice a year where I head out to the beach with girlfriends and indulge in chatter, good food, and some amazing spa treatments... SO refreshing! I come back with twice the energy I left with!
What do I do to look after me? Once every couple months I kick the kids and my husband out of the house for a couple hours. I really do not do anything special while they are gone, except revel in the peace and quiet. There is something about getting time just to myself that "refreshes" me.
I puffy heart the boots!
WOO! Well, as you know I'm pregnant w/my first. I still indulge in massages - infact, now I get one every month (shhhhh.. insurance pays!). It's. The. Best. Thing. Ever!
Also, when I can find the time and extra funds, I go get a really nice spa pedicure (with baby safe nail polish, of course). I LOVE pedis. Infact, I think I might schedule one more before baby comes! :)
I love the boots! And I want your boot camp legs.
I take a trip to Austin to visit my favorite hair stylist. Yes, that is a three hour drive, but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do!
check you out, Ms. Skinny Jeans!
no one would want to see me in those just yet.
Ok. For myself, I usually do something creative. Something that allows me to forget about the noises of the world and totally submerge into the creative areas of my mind. But, since I'm totally concerned about the pudge around the edges, I do like to go work out, or hike or just take walks with my precious hubby
Oh my gosh!!!!!!!! Those cost more than almost all the furniture in my house!
I LOVE them!!!!!!!!
Oh my goodness - thank you to Leslie for posting about this giveaway. First - so that I could find your totally awesome blog. And second - so that I have a chance to win these amazing boots. I actually think they already have my name written on them. You may want to check that out. Do you see it? Anywhere? Because they are totally calling out to me!!
Oh - so I have to tell you how I invest in myself. I have a (small) chunk of my paycheck that goes directly into an account set aside totally for me so that I can buy whatever I see fit for our new house we are planning to build in a few years. Sounds lame - but not so lame when I see the numbers going up and think about what I'll be buying on my shopping spree. I see everyone invests in their hair about every 6 weeks... I think I need to up my investments in that area. Ha!
I blogged about my new boots here ;)

I blogged about the boots here:
http://thelifeandtimesofaec.blogspot.com/2008/11/hooray-contest.html
Ooooh I love these!!
What am I doing for me?
Standing up for myself. I'm demanding a change in my life or I'm making a whole different change.
And yes, I know that's kind of cryptic sounding, but I alluded to it a bit in the post "cycles"
and one of the last Dear You letters.
xoxo
Ashley (BossSanders)
LOVE those boots!!
mmmm... a mom of two little ones... what do i do??
well with my precious SECONDS that i have to myself... i usually stay up an extra hour at night after everyone else has gone to bed and either watch what I WANT to see or endulge in my passion... reading magazines like good housekeeping, country home, martha... etc...
a HOT bath, a glass of vino, and a good magazine is my ideal end to a day.
ohhhhh... i neeeeeeeeeeed these boots!!!
i invest in me with pilates twice a week and water aerobics twice a week as well.
um. except for it's been 3 weeks since i was at the gym. thanks for the push... i'll be there tomorrow.
Okay, I blogged about it here. I hope it still counts because I put it at the end of the post where I hope no one will see it so that I CAN WIN!!!!!!!!
hmmm..usually a hot bath with the door locked...lol
Pedicures, and new purses.
LOVE the skinny jeans!!
I love your blog! It's too cute! I almost hate that my first comment is on your giveaway...but it is how I found you!
Look at your sexy legs! Woohoo! Looking hawt!!!
Well, you know I run. That is the one way I take care of myself (when I'm not injured, that is). And then once every two or three months I get a hair cut. I know, I'm high maintenance like that. ;)
Those are some rockin boots. I don't spend a whole lot of time on me, I always tell myself that I'll do something later. But, I do love the drive thru starbucks windows!
I workout. I'm one of those strange people who love the gym and looks for ways to exercise when the gym is not convenient.
I may blog more about this and get my second entry for those great boots.
I really need a new pair of boots.
Awesome give away!! I myself have taken up raquetball with my sister. Let me tell you it is hard work.
You are rocking those skinny jeans, love them!!
I take time to relax and refresh my mind...though not nearly enough. This weekend I'm getting out of town to the desert to ride quads, relax with friends, and unplug from all the electronics.
AWESOME giveaway
Every now and then I get a pedicure. I have 2 boys so it's nice to have someone pamper you.
Awesome boots!!
Oh my goodness, this is the most amazing giveaway ever!
Right now, I've been trying to eat healthier, I've been getting more sleep for myself, and occasionally I'll treat myself to a pedi/eyebrow wax!
Congrats on the working out, skinny jeans seem to suit you!
oooh I do need a pair a new boots, What I do to invest in myself is eat healthier and walk everyday since I got back surgery 4 months ago, so thats good for me and I meditate while walking, so count me in and thanks for the giveaway, do you know if they come in size 12? I'm 6 feet tall and I've got long feet, if not I'll get them for my daughter in a smaller size. thanks again We get minus 36s down here in Quebec
I read YOUR blog every day for me :)
I've gotten better about doing things for me as Lu's gotten older, although I'm guessing once the new one is born I'll be on the back burner again for a while - comes with the job though!
Would my prego belly look cute in those boots? Sign me up!
Hmmmmmm, for some odd reason this all brings up vague and dimly remembered promises made regarding bikini's and new years or something like that.
However I have OFTEN been told my memory is far good for my own good. Yet, I am having these distant yet vivid memories of counters and such??? Oh well, it's probably all just like the memories of my alter boy days that every one always tells me were just dreams.
Silly brain! Where do you get these idea?
Girl, you are looking good! Glad you pressed on and did it. Very impressive.
I try to (at least once a week) get away from the house, by myself, to do whatever I want for at least two to three hours. I usually go browsing, shopping, lunch with a friend, or a movie. I come back refreshed and so ready to be with my family again.
Okay, so I'm in for my second comment...I really lurrvve these boots. And since one of the ways I invest in myself is some well needed shoe shopping, I've posted with a link back to you!!!
http://paparrazimomma.blogspot.com/2008/11/i-so-need-these-shoes.html
Love.the.boots. :)
What do I do for me? I paint my nails and toes and I curl my hair. My hair is very straight and I take the time each morning to curl it - about an hour and a half. Some people laugh at me. But I love my curls. They make me feel feminine. Same with my nails and toes.
I don't always lotion myself like I should, I can't always fit exercise in, and I don't do my whole makeup removal regimine. But I do curl my hair. :)
After the kids are in bed, that is my time to enjoy! Sometimes I watch TV or a DVD, read blogs or magazines or books, sometimes I do something crafty. I just use that time to do something I enjoy while the house is nice and quiet.
OOH - I need to win those! What do I do to invest in me? I get my nails done every few weeks, (even my toes in the summer) and I get my hair trimmed and highlighted regularly. Oh, and I bought a new car tonight! YIKES! (I was due - my van was 13 years old and falling apart) LOVE those boots, my fingers are crossed.
Just for me, I try to spend time with my friends . . . without kids.
Not nearly enough apparently because I look a hot mess lately. Depressing. I do go for massages regularly because they are relaxing and just feel so darn good.
P.S Skinny jeans on you?=Hot mama!
I bought a pair of jeans that I love. More than I usually spend on me but I was starting to fall in to the mom jeans rut. Ewwwwww.
I would love to win those boots.
My wife tells me that I need to post my post link here, instead of relying on a trackback, so here ya go. I love contests.
Let me know when someone gives you a Wii to give away. I would love one. :)
hey you...i think the feed is working now!! next time you come over, will you let me know please!!
xo

I know what you mean - it is hard to put yourself first. I consider blogging to be my me first. My time for me alone.
What I do for me? Well...I'm getting a job. And now i'll need new clothes and I'll have time away!
OhMommy - Style runs in the family, you and Kash are just exuding class and so are these boots. I was actually inspired when I read you were doing boot camp and decided for my 28th birthday I would treat myself to the same. So for 8 weeks I have been rising at 5am three days a week. Up next - a weights class, the Bar Method. Taking care of myself is my treat.
LOVE those boots!
What do I do for myself? Trying to workout more, haircut/highlights every 6-7 weeeks & pedis regularly (most of the time)!
I definitely don't buy myself enough clothes or shoes since I spend all of my money on my girls!
This Mama sure would LOVE some new boots!
Yeah! I love Boots! I just posted you on my blog. heatheronthehomefront.blogspot.com
I need to workout for myself, but I haven't been doing a lot of that lately...maybe I should turn over a new leaf.
LOVE the skinny jeans. Fabulous girl.
Yoga. I'm a yoga addict. The only thing that can snap me out of a bad mood.
Wow! I want those! I have been working out w/ a personal trainer for the past year--but alas she's on maternity leave right now so I'm lapsing a little!
I will mention the boots on my blog!
I'm back with my second comment and the link to my post promoting YOU!
http://seibelblog.blogspot.com/2008/11/dont-lose-you.html
Hmm, I guess I invest in myself by surrounding myself with good friends and family.

I'm lovin' those boots!!
What do I do for myself...well, after 7 years in an insurance career that wasn't going anywhere, I decided to leave that and go back to school for nursing. My family think I'm crazy b/c I was good at what I did, but wasn't happy. So, that's what I'm doing for myself.
Congrats on your skinny jeans!!
Ok...I just totally blogged about this. OH how I hope I win!! :)

Linking...Blogging... for boots.
http://ourserenity.blogspot.com/2008/11/shoes-and-you.html
Wow! Thanks for another incredible giveaway! This past year has been different and very little time for me, but like many others, I do schedule massages, manicures, pedicures, and other spa treatments for myself. I hope to start working out regulary again - the photo of you in your skinny jeans is very inspiring!
There's something on my blog for you. ♥
OK - I posted about you and your boots on my blog...and included 5, yep, FIVE links to your blog...I hope that is good enough payoff to ensure I win!!!!
HUGS!
After I put my daughter to sleep, I treat myself to one serving (2pts!) of Weight Watchers ice cream while snuggled up under a blanket with my book of the week! I can't eat dairy products when she's awake since she is deathly allergic, so I crave those few minutes of sinful chocolate after I put her to sleep! Yum!
Looking HAWT Mama!!
Let's see I don't invest in myself as much as I invest in denim ;-) Okay really, to take care of my mental health, and it needs a lot of taking care of, I get massages twice a month.
I watch a lot of TV, that is how I invest in myself. Blogging has also become my new thing. I am just addicted to both hobbies. Can't really afford anything cool, so I do it the cheep way. That is okay with me. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have Sex and The City shoes.
I go to the gym everyday for half an hour. It's usually my only "me" time.
One night a week, I head over to the local bookstore, buy a cup of tea or coffee, grab a stack of magazines and books and read away...
Love those stylish boots. Hope I'm the lucky winner!
Invest in myself? Hummm?
Well I love to color my hair when I am down. So I make sure to buy bold color then. I love coffee and always have my morning cup with a yummy creamer. That is me time! Good food with Good friends and family. That is always a celebration to me. Time every night so I can curl up and read. Makes me dream so easy. Love it.
And those boots would do it too. Texas may not be cold to some. But my heater does not work well and my toes are so cold. I would wear them all the time to keep me warm. Warm my feet--warm all of me! Help me win!
I do get my hair & nails done and I do consider that an investment in myself. However, I have never had a pair of Crocs. My feet are too big to wear Crocs and I don't need anything to make them look bigger. I thought the only shoe Crocs made are the cute ones that my granddaughters wear. Who knew they made some great looking boots and shoes? I would love to have a great looking pair like those CLASSY looking boots, since everyone says they are so comfy. I am all for comfort this day and time and fashion!
I soak in the bath every Tuesday night with the latest US magazine. Its become a ritual that I love. Its also one of the few times when all is quiet!
I'm posting to enter my wife. She has been relentless in getting back into shape after having our little kiddo (who is beautiful but I'm bragging like a proud Papa).
She's goes to the local YMCA all week after work, bringing our daughter along too, who enjoys going as well.
She does the Body Pump, and Body Step classes all week long and runs on the treadmill and recently completed her first 5k race in the Susan G. Kommen "Race for the Cure" to prevent breast cancer.
Dude, she's never run before and I'm so proud of her accomplishment that I'm going to start running also.
To look after me...I make myself exercise. I don't like doing it but it makes me feel great the rest of the day!
Hot mama!! You look awesome, and all I can see are your shin and feet!
No need to enter me. I just had to comment on your smokin' self.
Those boots are adorable! My me time is spent blogging, crocheting after the boy has gone to bed and sometimes having girl's nights out! Next Saturday is poker night. :)
I've started running, which I hope is an investment in myself/health! But when I'm not running, I'd look awful cute in those boots! (wink!)

As of late, the computer has been my indulgence... which really explains why the house looks the way it does....
Love the boots. Can't believe they are made by Crocs.
I seriously cant even think of something I do for me right now. Seriously, I've got nothing. But I do want those boots!!
Those boots are AWESOME! I hate Crocs, but the You line is pretty cool. What do I do for myself? I get biweekly pedicures and once monthly massages. They help me relax and focus my energies for the weeks ahead. They are literally lifesavers for me!
I am new here! What a great blog :)
love the site! I watch what I eat!
BABYGOODBUYS AT GMAIL DOT COM
Oh, my, those boots would be perfect for a boot wearing girl in this snowstorm. They would even look awesome with extra warm tights and my short jean skirt.
As for what I do for myself? Hmm. I write/blog, play tennis, sew, read, call my sister, and make coq au vin so I have an excuse to have half a glass of wine =). And, I wear boots.
Those are gorgeous boots! When I'm wallowing in my own self pity, I always travel to a remote location whether it's local or international, it always does the trick by helping me feel inspired again.
I take myself out to lunch once a week and I work out 3 times a week. Oh! and I meditate for at least 30 minutes every day.
such a great blog- i eat christmas tree cakes (like zebra cakes) because they area AMAZING! who doesn't deserve a treat?

I NEED These boots! I am planning a trip to NYC with my hubby for January!
I invest in myself through furthering my education and playing on my new Wii Fit. :)
Can friends enter this? Wasn't sure so that's why I haven't entered yet. I saw that E. entered your contest so I thought it must be ok. What do I do for myself? I exercise, read, write and drink lots of tea (and wine). Would love some boots.
I take timeouts for bubble baths, and date nights with my sweet husband. I would love these boots!
You look rockin' - I've been on a supplement and exercise kick and have lost 5 pounds already... looking forward to rockin' my own pair of skinny jeans soon!
Sorry we didn't get together tonight, been busy with my sick oldest child... maybe tomorrow???
I take time to myself every night at my sewing machine...but I should be taking time to myself at the gym for some skinny jeans!!!!
anyway, would love some boots for my kankles...
I am hurting for you...but dang those are some cute boots! Thanks for the chance and make sure to check out my Giveaways!

I'm dying for these boots. I mean, seriously! Too freaking cute.
Okay, so I'm with you. I have to set aside time for myself. If I don't, I would be the worst mom ever.
I do get my hair done ever 8 weeks, and I love it. I also make time every day, at least 5 days a week to work out. Either I drag my butt to the gym or I do something at home. It's such a release, and it makes me feel healthy.
I also blog. I write. And that is so totally for me!!!
Oh, and I stay up late and watch my shows after everybody else is in bed. It's amazing to enjoy an entire show without have to pause it a million times.
See, I feel happy just writing out the me stuff!
Hugs...Summer
Reluctantly, I posted about this contest on my blog:
http://lemusingsofmoi.blogspot.com/2008/11/boots-i-need.html
I just don't want anybody taking my boots away from me!
After childbirth, I deserve nothing less!
;-)
I'm a message girl. Cool boots help too.
I take a Pilates class 2 nights a week. I also enjoy getting my eyebrows done or my hair done.
I joined my local gym (they have child care WOOHOO!) I feel like that is something that is just for me, it makes me feel better about myself to spend a little time focused on bettering myself a few times a week!
(Is it bad that I want to LICK those boots?)
I get up at 4:45a.m. so I can exercise before catching my 7:09 train into Boston. Can't do it at night b/c that would take time away from the boyz.
